I was rehabbing a 60 year old secretary. Old hinge sagged and never did support the drop down desk to a 180 angle. Replaced hinge with this product and the desk worked perfectly for the 1st time ever. It’s very sturdy and a great value for the cost. It even fit with the antique style.

These appear to function well. Not installed as these hinges require a bigger opening than in our application.Minimum top/door/leaf size is not provided in description & would be helpful.

Great hinges. Hard to find because I didn’t know what they were called, “secretary desk hinge”.

Unusable. The hinge will not open flat. I even tried filing things down to get it to work properly. Impossible. A piece of garbage as soon as it left the factory. Do not waste your money.

I thought I would have to add a chain to the secretary I made (see pic) to hold the lid but these hinges we're plenty strong enough. Opens and locks at 180 degrees, no flexing. Operates smoothly. Easy to install with a few minutes of chisel work. Came with decent screws too.

I wanted my hinge out table to be completely flat/level with the rest of the board, but these end up holding it slightly angled up. If you put a good amount of weight on it, it seems to get completely flat to 180 degrees, so maybe a good choice if you have a really heavy wood type, but didn't work for my 1/2" wood that was a 20" deep board.

Bought this to replace an old hinge that had developed a lot of slop/stretch over many years. While I was able to get it to fit and it will do the job, this new pair of hinges was missing half of the screws to install it, and the hinges are definitely not made to fully open to 180 degrees. Not sure if they're just bent, or if it's a cheap engineering design, but they only open to about 175 degrees; for a slant-top desk, it means the writing surface doesn't quite lay flat.Luckily I was able to re-use the screws from the old hinges to install this new pair, but of course the colors don't quite match. Not the end of the world, but frustrating when the product is advertised to come with matching hardware and didn't include the 12 screws necessary to install both hinges.Hinges were a bit stiff at first, but worked in reasonably quickly once installed. Apart from not fully opening to a full 180 degrees, they look & function just fine otherwise.
