No. This ball is soft and is easy for a baby to play with and I was wondering before I received it if it would be something ok to be played with inside the house, and I am very pleased with how its made and like that its soft. It doesn't take a lot of effort to make sounds, which is good for keeping a little baby entertained. I am very Happy I ordered it. If it's sold in stores I'm sure it sells very well.
