This is the only good sharpening stone !!!
Ignore all the other sharpening stone kits on Amazon ', I have bought lots of them ' and this is the only truly good sharpening stone !!!I would recommend getting a good adjustable mounting to prevent it sliding around on the work surface ' but having said that ' I used a damp folded tea towel for the longest time when I first started !!!You do have to apply plenty of pressure and downward 👇 force to the knife 🔪 blade when you start sharpening the knife in order to essentially grind the knife 🔪 blade smooth to a sharp edge !!!Different people use different techniques ' but for my kitchen knives I lay the flat side of the blade against the stone and grind it evenly on either side in a diagonal motion across the sharpening stone !!!Obviously I recommend leaving the stone in a bucket of water 💦 for a few hours prior to sharpening !!!Usually I apply enough downward 👇 pressure on each side of the blade that my 🤌 finger tips get sore after just half an hour !!!This is usually more than enough time for me to put the edge back on my kitchen knives ' but if you're starting with a new knife 🔪 then it could take longer to get the desired edge on the blade !!!Once you have a good 👍😊 edge on the blade ' then less downward 👇 pressure is needed whilst sharpening !!!This is the only brand I would trust ' and to me it's worth the money 💰You only get good 👍😊 with practice ' so don't give up 😉👍

A good piece of kit
A good piece of kit, managed to use it this weekend with other water-stones on camp whilst training scout leaders. expected poor quality for the price but surprised will be looking at other stones in the range now.

Fantastic Stone. Got my knife insanely sharp.
I used this on my nice, but blunt, Wüsthof knife. I spent around 1 hour sharpening it, and wow, it's insanely sharp. I'm very very pleased with the results! As for the supplier M.K.TOOLS LTD, they delivered the item promptly and I am happy. I was initially confused why it came in some slug fence packaging, but it just looks like they used the box so they could provide a bit of padding inside for the stone itself.

Great for sharpening
Works much better than the usual sharpeners. It's easy to find out how to use it properly with all the videos on YouTube.

Great stone
For the price, this is fantastic, I use this on my chisels and planes and it can be used to achieve a sharp edge even before I finish it on my 8000 grit stoneIt is a fair size and I haven't had any issue maintaining it, hasn't cracked or dried out.If you are thinking of purchasing your first waterstone, Id highly recommend this one.

don't like it
This is a soft King-type japanese waterstone made by a different company. The main problem with it is that is too narrow and thin. I like King Deluxe stones so much better. This would be OK on the go where weight and bulk matters. Do not buy a combination stone to save money, buy two different big stones-the results will be much better. If you are serious about starting waterstone sharpening I don't recommend King stones at all, for a little more money you get a whole lot more from Chosera stones made by Naniwa-these are absolutely fantastic, cut extremely fast and wear very slow, are very dense&heavy and do not require soaking.

1000 grit removes metal and shapes your cutting really well then using plenty of water on the 6000 it removes all scratches and
soak these very well before first use.1000 grit removes metal and shapes your cutting really well then using plenty of water on the 6000 it removes all scratches and leave a beautiful mirror finish and razor sharp edge. In know time at all.
