Wilton Low-Profile Drill Press Vise, 4" Jaw Width, 4" Jaw Opening, 1-1/2" Jaw Depth (Model LP4)

Wanted a vice for my bench drill press. I checked out the Doyle product first and was going to go that route until I checked this Wilton LP4 out. Fit and finish on the LP4 is vastly superior. The casting has been finished nice and smooth. The paint finish is nice and even. The mechanism works nice and smooth, and I find the tolerances are absolutely fine. My only thought is that it's a shame it doesn't come with a set of padded jaws, as I suspect most folks will need a set. All round, very satisfied for the price point.

For the hobbyist this DP vice is just the right size. It's well made and performs (so far) as advertised. This is not a machinist grade/quality tool but the casual user will likely find it to be adequate. A 4"X4" fits in the jaws so the size limitations will be determined by your drill press.The mounting slots make it pretty versatile and should fit just about any drill press. Install is straightforward and very easy with the proper tools and accessories. Mounting hardware is not included so you will need at least 2 bolts, 2 nuts, 4 slot washers and a couple lock washers. Once installed it use is self-evident. I particularly like the rubber face protection that's designed to hold round or other odd shapes. For wood projects you might consider mounting wooden substitutes however as the rubber may mar the project surface.So far I have found the Wilton 11744 to be a necessary addition to my drill press and had increased functionality significantly. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, easy to use tool to hold your projects securely to your dp this is a good option. Recommended.

Well, I was a little worried this vice might be covered in some awful anti-rust cosmoline, but no! You open the box and just say "wow"! It's a beautiful vice, right out of the box. Nice paint, nice finish, no sharp edges.Replaceable jaws are nice and as others have said, only one is slotted for rounds, but that could easily be added yourself. Jaws are steel and will hold my magnetically attached soft jaws.Overall, I'm delighted and think this vice is the equivalent of my old Palmgren vice.

The vise was shipped in protected packaging to keep vise from any damage. The vise is a very quality vise. The clamping jaws are made to hold object tight and accurate. The mechanism moves easily on the vise without jerking like my old vise did. Cannot go wrong on purchasing this Wilton vise.

I don’t have a garage with a heavy table i can bolt a vise to so was looking for something heavy and sturdy that i could put on my portable bench as needed. This 4” Wilton works perfectly for me. I was surprised how heavy it is and had no problems opening and closing the jaws. So glad i found this.
