Works well on dense fur
I bought this to help groom my cat who has thick long fur like a Norwegian Forest cat. It's well-made and fits well in my hand. The wide teeth on it does a good job separating out the fur without pulling it.

This is cheap, but works really good!
I have a cocker spaniel who I keep in a full coat. I also let him be a dog. He has a very beautiful long and heavy coat, but it collects things. If you don't have a dog with this kind of coat, there is no way to fully explain how much stuff I find in his fur. If you don't brush daily, you need to trim.I have a few other combs, I just got and tried out this comb and it works great. It is not as much longer than a regular comb than the photo shows, but there is something about it, spacing maybe, that makes it get into his fur better.

My dog doesn't hate this comb
Our dog is a cross between 3 double-coated dogs. Pomeranian, Long-haired Chihuahua, and Corgi. As you can imagine her coat gets long and easily tangled, especially when she decides to jump into the compost pile hunting lizards. Yes, she is a hunter and will stalk anything that moves. Her coat gets terribly matted and tangled and she needs to be combed out a lot. Every other comb I've tried either pulls so badly she tries to bite it, or it is so flimsy it won't go through her fur. This comb is really perfect for getting those stubborn tangles out without causing her any pain or discomfort. Also, the tips do not have balls at the end and are not sharp like slickers so she actually rolls over and lets me comb her belly with it. I guess it feels good against her skin if I use it to give her gentle belly rubs.By far, this is the only comb I can use on my dog to get her coat looking beautiful and to get the mats out so her skin can breathe. She looks so happy when I am done combing her out.

Great dog comb!
The groomer recommended a poodle comb for our sheepadoodle. It does a great job of getting deep into our dog's fur so he doesn't get too matted. We use another kind of brush for all over combing. This poodle comb is high quality. I like the wood handle.

Really helps get the tangles out!
This is the best tool I have ever used for removing tangles in a dog’s hair. I’m only sorry it took me so long to find it! Totally worth the small price they charge for it!

A Must Have undercoat grooming tool!
If you have a dog with a Husky-type of thick undercoat you will be amazed at how this comb gets down into the packed fur, loosens the mat and pulls out big clumps of thick winter fur that otherwise would be strewn all through your house:-)!I am super pleased with this Dog Comb, and the nice wooden handle is a bonus, such a nice improvement over plastic!

Love this comb!!! Highly recommend for long haired cocker spaniel coats.
This is the BEST comb I have ever owned for use on my show quality cocker spaniel. The comb is easy to hold and the tines are sturdy and smooth. It makes daily grooming so much easier.I would absolutely recommend getting this comb for anyone looking to make grooming a dog with a long silky, dense, or double coat.
