GSI Outdoors, Rakau Knife Set

What a great set. Sleek sharp, great quality and lightweight. I am very content with this magnificent set. I primarily use it to go camping and gets the job done every time. I feel like the cutting board is also the perfect size. Great set, highly recommend for those who really enjoy knives and outdoor cooking. It really gives it that extra touch of craft.

I got the single chef knife. It's a gorgeous knife, beautifully made wood handle with a well fitting sheath, perfect addition to my base-camp kitchen. However, Amazon shipped it in like no packaging so it arrived scratched up :( Not docking stars for that, but kinda lame.

Often sets like this are either way too big with way more than you really need for a camping trip, or too small and don't have what you need. Not the case here. Just what you need in a nice compact set. Knives are good quality, very usable. Not high end by any means, but they have a good edge and are easy to chop with and have a quality feel to them.We recently went skiing and stayed at a nice airbnb cabin. Not knowing what the kitchen was like, we brought this set. The rental kitchen had a knife block with probably 40 knives in it, but they were dull and with so many options, it was hard to find the right knife for the job. We ended up using only the chef knife in this set as it was sharp and nicely designed.

These things are SHARP. We bought them for camping and they are nicer than the set we have at home. :-) The carry case is nice and they fit well into their covers and the case. The cutting board is fine, but a little too small. With that said, I understand why the cutting board is small, as it needs to fit into the case. Great set and have already recommended to several family members. Do not hesitate, just BUY THEM!!!

I've waited to write a review until I had the chance to put these to use. Just got back from a camping trip in our airstream from the gulf and made a big meal for 11 people. Lots of prepping, dicing, cutting. The set worked flawlessly and I used all 3 knives, cutting board and the microfiber cloth. Very sharp out of the case. I attended culinary school many years ago and wish I had this set then. Knife guards and the carrying case are a major bonus. Highly recommend and im very pleased.

These are very well constructed, made of high quality materials. I think they will last years if not decades. I feel like a chef when I'm using these out in the woods while I'm camping. I feel that the price is reasonable considering how well constructed they are. they take up very little room in pack. And I often get compliments on this set from other campers, and they want to know where I purchased it from and how much they cost.

This set is pretty good. Keep in mind that the spatula and spoon can only be used with non-stick as a standard metal or cast-iron pan will melt them. The mini-shredder was just an extra and it was never used because we just took pre-shredded cheese with us. The spice container was extremely useful. We used it to hold a salt and pepper mixture on one side and a garlic and onion powder mixture on the other side. The drying mat and sponge were perfect for the dishes we had. Overall, compact and useful!

Love this knife set. It works great for all of our camping needs.
