Highly Recommended!
The Buckle Toy (or as we call it, the Buckle Pillow) is a perfect developing hand eye coordination, as well as developing color matching skills. The Problem solving skills my toddler has developed using the buckle pillow have been well worth the money spent. And he feels good about accomplishing the task each time.I do have to say, when I first got the package, I have to say, I was a little disappointed by the size of the buckle pillow. Even my husband commented on how small it seemed. However, in the hands of our toddler, it's just the right size to manipulate all the buckles. The Buckle Pillow is just right for traveling. We took this on a plane trip with us and our then 15 month old was entertained for quite some time! When my son plays with The Buckle Pillow there is a real sense of accomplishment when he finishes buckling all of them up. And though my 20 Month old still hasn't figured out how to take apart some of the buckles, so he still needs my help when playing with the toy, but I don't mind at all. He brings it over to me and I unbuckle them for him to play again. I look forward to him growing into it and being able to unbuckle it himself though as well.My little guy LOVES his Buckle Pillow! And Mom gives it five stars too! I can see the Buckle Pillow being a well loved toy for years to come.

Perfect size for travel!
We bought this to keep our child occupied while in the vehicle and also to use to prop her head up if she fell asleep. The buckles snap together fairly easily (she's only a year and a half old) and the material is very soft and still durable. The snaps are a little too difficult fer her to get apart herself, but that is manageable. They are also made in a way that don't pinch your fingers when snapping them together. The color-matching buckles also make it easier for your child to figure out which ones go together! I would definitely recommend this to anyone because it is safe, durable and entertaining.

A great toy to keep a toddler busy.
I ordered this toy to take on a long plane trip for my 14 months old. It was great for keeping her occupied. I had to demonstrate how the buckles work a couple of times and pretty soon she was trying to play by herself. Now her hands and coordination are still too weak to snap the buckes in or undo them, but it doesn't stop her from trying. So far she just tries to bring the two pieces of the buckle together and that seems like quite the challenge for her. I help her along and she gets very excited when she finally manages to clip a buckle. Then I undo the buckle and she tries again and again. Out of all little toys I brought along with me on a plane, this one was played with the most. The fact that this is not a battery run toy that makes sounds and lights up is a great plus for me too.I think it is a great little toy that keeps my child interested while helping her develop fine motor skills.

2 years later and still going strong
Bought this 2 years ago to get our 1 year old acquainted with hand dexterity. Thanks to these buckles, he wanted to undo and do all of the buckled things. Jokes aside, this is a great toy to get a toddler going with hand-eye coordination. I'll admit, this is a little above a 1 year olds pay grade. While the clips are easy to clasp and unclasp, the buckles are certainly much tougher to manipulate. That 1 year old is now 3 and he just recently began to undo the buckles. One other point, this is great for getting them started with colors as well.

Great QUIET car toy that actually holds my tot's attention!
I bought this for my 20-month old in preparation for a long car ride (3.5 hours). She's into buckles in the first place and likes to buckle herself into her high chair and also likes to fasten the chest clip on her carseat. She wasn't quite sure what to do at first but once we walked her through all the different buckles she LOVED it. I can't believe how long this keeps her busy. She will work on it for 20 minutes at a time, quietly talking to herself or occasionally telling me proudly that she got one of the colors -- "burple! geen!". I was worried she'd be able to do but not undo, but the only buckles she can't undo herself are the 'standard' ones that you really have to squeeze hard. Honestly, at first I thought $20 was a little much for this but it's worth every penny. She talks about the colors, she talks about the animals under the flaps, it's practice matching, it's hand eye coordination -- this is probably the best toy I've ever bought for her. She's also in that phase where she hates getting in her car seat and I used to try to bribe her with snacks or books and it was 50/50. What works every time? BUCKLES. This has to go in the house with us every night and I get an earful the whooooole car ride if I forget it in the morning. I don't worry about this in the car either since it's relatively soft -- not the worst thing to have thrown at me, lol. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

Perfect quiet toy for my busy autistic preschooler!
It's hard to find "quiet" toys to occupy our autistic son in places where he can't bring his battery operated noisy toys (like church). This was a big hit with him as he loves buckling and unbuckling his car seat straps and other buckles and clips. It's soft and safe, colorful and cute. The back has cute little velcro flaps with numbers and animals underneath each one. It's super easy to pack in a diaper bag and is quiet and keeps little hands busy! We bought this for him when he was 2 and he still plays with it at nearly 4. I also love toys that don't come apart with pieces that can be thrown all over the place or lost. Whoever came up with this toy is brilliant (must be a mom) and has my sincere thanks!
