UJ Ramelson 5pc Chip Wood Carving Knife Whittling Caricature Leather Tool Roll

I am progressing from a beginning carver to an intermediate level. This is the perfect set for me.They came reasonably sharp and seem to be well made.

Blades were very sharp but the handles and blades were constructed cheaply. Knife handle broke first time I used it. On my first cut it just snapped. I’m lucky I wasn’t hurt or cut badly when the blade literally came flying out of the handle. It almost hit me in the face and stuck in the couch I was siting on. It’s a shame bc I was really excited about getting them. I will never buy another UJ Ramelson knife bc I can’t trust that I won’t get hurt using them.

Good knives but they have a very rounded knife blade on all of them that required a lot of sharpening on a Diamond Sharpening stone, then honing on a double leather strop to get a sharp edge. The handles are colourful and the steel holds a good edge once you put the correct edge on both sides of each blade. You want to buy a knife set that 1. Has a high quality Stainless Steel to keep an edge. 2. It comes with the right edge and is sharpened and honed, ready to use. 3. It feels comfortable in your hand to use for various types of woodcarving. 4. It looks good. These meet 1, 3, 4. but be prepared to do the work of 2.

Great set! I've been carving for almost two years and have tried several brands. These are my favorite so far. Sharp and ready to start carving. Fit well in hand and easy to use.

Received them when promised. Really satisfied with them. Nice fell to them.

First time used whittling one knife broke don't know why haven't used the set again feel like I wasted money on these
