Best chair ever.
I have this chair at work for a number of years and I just bought it for the home office. I am a big boy and this is the ideal big boy chair. As far as the arm rests splitting, they will do that, but the trick is to buy some adhesive suede in a sheet (usually used for the soles of dancing shoes) and adhere it to the top of the arm rests. You gain in two ways - the arm rests are permanently fixed and the suede feels awesome when you are typing and resting the arms on them. I am 6' tall and I like that I can sit such that my head goes over the back rest to stretch out my neck a little.I have used this chair for about 8 years at work and with the little suede fix, It should keep on trucking for more years. After about 6 years the cylinder that hoists the chair died, but since I always use it in the lowest position and sitting in the reclined posture, it is no concern. I can program longer in this chair than any other chair I have ever used.Best chair I have ever used period.Update November 2022 - My office 2010 chair finally died today with a full core dump suddenly after about 12 years of (ab)use. The chair looks great without any cosmetic drama, but I literally fell completely backward and whacked the ol' noggin pretty hard. Happened while I was talking to someone, so it was pleasantly embarrassing and awkward. Good thing there isn't anything up in the cranial cavity that can be damaged. I am now in the process of dropping the coin to get another one. Still the best chair ever.

Fine Chair
I've owned my chair for about 4 years. I like the lumbar support and armrests are fine. It was very comfortable for the first 2-3 years, but then the padding isn't as firm now, the armrests have both cracked and the piston has a small leak where you drop 1-2 inches from the height you initially set it, so I find myself having to raise the chair back up. So how does it rate? Well, it is a no brainer if you are comparing this to a $100 chair. You should get 3-4 years of good use out of it, and then maybe it will serve until you're ready to purchase a new one (where I'm at now). My work chair when I go into the office is a Herman Millar, and it's nowhere near that level. I'm not sure how it compares to other $300 chairs. I wish it lasted longer.

5 Star so far
It's been a day. I did a lot of research and found i needed to spend a bit more to get a worthwhile chair. I never thought I'd be working from home 8 hours per day for months, so I was getting away with a very cheap and non-ergonomic wayfair chair. Back pain, chest pain, lack of sleep, and headaches, along with shortness of breath (not covid), i found that my posture is killing me. Hoping this chair helps, it's the first day of use and feels just like my chair at the office. Putting this together took about 15 mins and there was zero colorful language, which is awesome. Usually some sorts of swears come out, but this actually went together very sturdily. It's got an adjustable lumbar support, moves up and down, as do the armrests. The seat is pretty comfortable and what you'd expect. I honestly have really liked the mesh backed chairs as they breathe and are also comfortable. Time will tell how it holds up, but I'm happy with the construction and ease of assembly.

Great Chair, very durable and will have a long ...
I normally don't review products, but my brother was asking me about a chair to buy and which one I used; So I dug up my order history to find this product.I've been using this chair since October 2015 on a near daily basis. I'm a fairly active PC Gamer, and the chair has held up amazingly well. All my back problems from prolonged sitting have gone away, and the chair seems as durable as ever.My only gripe is that arm rests began to break apart small pieces of material around the 1 year mark and have continued to fall about very slowly over the course of my second year. It's mainly cosmetic damage, as the chair and it's arm rests still function as they should. Overall, I think this chair has another 2 years of life in it.TL;DR: Great Chair, very durable and will have a long life. Solved my lower back problems from gaming for extended periods of time. Comparable to a Herman Miller Aeron or other high end chair with a much lower price point. Armrests may begin to fall apart after 1 year of active use. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Love the mesh, will need foot rest though
Synchro-tilt is way better than the tension control I experience at work. At work, I have this chair that has 4 tension positions, but because it has this variety, the seat is sort of loose and doesn't sync up like this chair does. Although this chair only has a range of 5-10 degrees tilt, the seat syncs and it just feels natural. There is a lot of resistance when you lean back and I imagine that this will accommodate most people. The rumors are true, this chair is tall... No one can really touch their feet on the floor unless you're 6 feet or something. Expect to get some kind of foot rest or set up that would allow you to adjust your feet. I'm currently getting the first result when you search foot rest, and using my subwoofer to lounge with my legs. There is very nice cushion at the lower back of the seat and the seat itself is almost like a firm pillow. The arm rests are concave, not flat. I prefer this as well since it distributes the force a lot better compared to flat.
