Great entertainment for 8-month old lab
My 8-month old lab loves the Varsity Ball. She was a little hesitant with it at first, but once she got the hang of it, she became totally entralled with it. Now she can't contain herself when she knows it's time to go in the yard and play with it! Some may view the Varsity Ball as a little pricey, but it's well worth the money to invest in a toy like this that provides great exercise and will withstand hard play for years to come. It's a great toy that she'll have as she continues to grow, and I'm confident that the ball truly is indestructible.

The plastic is too hard on dog's legs
Although this ball likely is "indestructible" as advertised, I find that the plastic is so hard that injury to my pet's legs seems inevitable. She loves to run and try to "kick" the ball as she does, and it makes a worrisome "cracking" noise on those skinny legs. I'm certain under the fur she has gotten bruised. The ball is so hard that it could cause a hematoma or possibly fracture. Indeed, when I have kicked the ball to get it moving, I hurts my toes as well! This ball would probably be suited for a dog who does not try to run with it. But where's the fun in that? There is another softer rubber ball with a handle on the market which is quite durable, yet does not seem as dangerous as the Varsity ball.

My dog loves this!
I read the reviews and wondered if my dog could really be as entertained by this ball as everyone says. She's a catahoula mix and very energetic but I wasn't sure a simple ball would hold her attention. When it arrived we took it out to the yard and she was a bit nervous at first but it didn't take long before she was chasing it around the yard. She loves this ball! Probably the most expensive dog toy I'll ever buy, but it's indestructible and entertaining for my girl so it's totally worth it!

No dog interest.
The Ball Is exactly what they described. Unfortunately My GSD, and my friends golden retriever had no idea what to do with it. We tried and tried, showed them how we played with it and then would send it to them. They just had no interest at all. we got the 12 inch version and it is just huge. I think that the 6 inch version might go over better but I followed the manufactures recommendation. Unfortunately I am just not willing to spend that much again to risk my dog ignoring it. I really wanted this product to be amazing but my dog just didn't get into it.

Great ball, but dogs are not interested.
It's a great ball, super heavy duty and pretty much indestructible, since even my biggest Rottie can't get a bite on it. Problem is that non of my three dogs are interested in the ball. If they can't get a bite on it and tear it up, they don't want it. Too bad...I was so excited about it. They simply prefer to tear up a nice basketball and then shake the deflated remains :-(

Great toy for herding dogs
The only thing that keeps me from loving it is that my dog doesn't play with it as much as I wanted/hoped. He might still be learning, so we play a little each evening and it seems like he's getting the hang of it. Still, he wanders off and brings me a tennis ball or his Kong after a little bit. The ball itself is very sturdy and totally worth the purchase price. If you have a dog that likes to herd, this is a great toy.

German Shepherd and Varsity Ball - didn't work for our dog
Our German Shepherd is a three year old. Will not even play, sniff or nudge the Varsity Ball. Playing ball is one of our German Shepherds favorite things to do and has four Jolly Time balls and absolutely loves these balls. I think the Varsity Ball is too hard. We have tried the ball outside and inside and no luck getting our German Shepherd to play with it.
