Nice Case
My son got a very nice oblong case with his new violin. When he had a 3/4 violin, he had the traditional type of case where you have to squish the shoulder rest just right to get it to fit. He found that he prefers the oblong case because there is much more room for a shoulder rest, rosin, cloth and sheet music. And it all fits easily. My son has a cheaper violin that he keeps at school. I needed a case for that one but I did not want to spend that much money - since it will not get a lot of use. This case is nicer than I expected and very light weight. It has plenty of room for the shoulder rest and rosin like his more expensive one. I will admit it's not quite as plush as our expensive case. But it is a great, inexpensive option. The violin is snug in it and should be well protected and zippers seem to work well. For the price, you can not beat it. I read another reviewer saying the interior was shedding getting on the violin and that concerned me. But that is not my experience at all. I got the cream colored interior as I liked the clasp on that one better. I don't know about the green interior one. But the beige one had no shedding or issues. I'm very happy with it.

Not a hard-sided case
I bought this case to replace a 40+ yr old one. The price was right! I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ because the instrument is only worth a few hundred dollars. I expected that the cloth cover would be a removable cover not the actual body of the case. Very lightweight in comparison to my antique that went to landfill. The only latch is under the handle and the zipper serves to secure closure. Does come with a key, but it's not a high-tech lock. Full-size violin fits. I like that there is storage space for my shoulder rest and other necessities (rosin, pencil, cleaning cloth, spare strings, etc...).

Let me set the record straight
If you have done even the smallest amount of research on oblong violin cases, you know two things; either that they are expensive ($80+) or cheaper but with mixed reviews. So I tried my luck with this one, finding it to be the cheapest oblong case from a reliable seller on amazon, but with its share of mixed reviews. For $30, you can't go wrong. The case is light and sturdy from the outside. Inside, the padding is a very nice golden color. It is hard and seems protective. It isn't the best quality padding, you can feel the rough edges with your hand, but again, this case is more than half the price less than other cases, so I didn't purchase it expecting perfection. Nonetheless, I think the padding will last and protect my violin well.I am also pleasantly surprised to find that the case came with shoulder straps and a dust rag to cover your violin. The description didn't say these were included and to discover them made this case an even better value. So, if you're looking for a case that is reasonably priced, but still able to protect your violin adequately, this is the one. Look no further.

Good for the price, hooks an issue
Decently hard of a shell, attractive to the eye in and out. But as others have noted the strap hooks are not gauged to last long at all. I removed the backpack hooks that remained and replaced them with a few loops of wire. The bridge of the violin leaves an indentation on the velour roof of the case, but unless you leave a mute on, you're probably in no danger of losing your sound post to the collapsing bridge monster/troll. It is a nice looking case but a couple of improvements in the strap hooks would make this a 4 star case, and also a more expensive case.

Quite a value for less than 40 dollars
After my stock violin case that came with my Cecilio CVN-500 violin began to fall apart due to constant carrying and increased weight from additional accessories, I decided to buy a new one online(local music shops can be quite expensive and have low selection). This one fit the bill quite perfectly, it was less than 50 dollars, had a nice cover cloth, was spacious enough to carry (of course my violin) 2 bows, 3 rosins, 2 bottles of violin polish, a spare bridge, 2 cleaning cloths(one is quite dirty but usable for my strings), and 2 tuners, peg drops for slipping pegs, and my dozen violin strings for emergencies in case(no pun inended) someone's violin string pops(I am that nice). I have been constantly been carrying it around to mariachi gigs and rehearsals and has stood up to both the abuse and environment (in Sand Diego it can get quite hot and cold randomly. My old violin case had strap handles, which ripped apart, this case has a solid handle which was a must for me. I must say that I ordered the blue color and in reality it seems to be a deeper blue. Ever since I received it 3/11/15 I have been pleased with it, fulfills the basic functions of a violin case which is just what I need. Quite durable I'd say.

I was pulled in by the good looks and cheap price of this case
Once again, this saying holds true. I was pulled in by the good looks and cheap price of this case. I have to agree that this case does look good, in and out. However, you have to agree that this is cheaper compared to most other cases out there. We started using it and within 2 weeks, screw from one side of the handle came off. I put in a screw without any complaint to seller. And soon, other side comes off. The screw that came off, cannot go back. I had to put in a new one. With in another week, the seam on strap comes out and we had to stitch it. Finally, when other side of strap begins to come off, we decided to contact Amazon. While Amazon is great in customer service with its own products, it's really bad when it comes to third party sellers. We were left at mercy of seller - which is Savannah Trading. They simply refused any help because the warranty was 30 days and I contacted them on day 32. I felt like a fool that I was trying to make it work despite 3 failures and waited until water got over the head. Next time, I need to be smarter about it. And really the way Savannah responded, I would be a fool to order from them again.I did keep an eye on how gently its used. I am cognizant of the fact that usage causes product issues too but it was not in this case.
