Shedding EVERYWHERE! I thought I had read a review that said this mat doesn’t shed. Well, it does. I have another mat nearby, and there are fibers all over it. I try to sweep off the loose fibers, but of course new ones loosen. I don’t think I’ve even had this mat for a year. I was so pleased with the size and look, but it’s a messy, messy rug.

Just like other reviews....This thing sheds.So, you wipe your feet on it and drag the shedding through the door into the house where you then take your shoes off. Your socks now pick the shedding up that fell off your shoes. Now it's all over your house!Vacuum the rug????...Good luck with that as everytime you walk on the rug it sheds!The only thing this is good for is wiping your feet off as you leave the house so that the shedding is brought outside.Don't believe me????....Go buy one and find out for yourself.

Nice large size. I bought this for a party when we were expecting rain and wanted to make sure our guests had a place to wipe their feet. It held up nicely and did its job with over 70 guests. It looks simple and elegant. It definitely sheds as most of these types of mats do, but I did not notice any pieces coming into the house. I've only had it for a little while so don't know if the shedding will stop, but the shedding does not bother me. I would also note that this does not have a comfortable feel on bare feet, so if this is for a mudroom where people will be barefoot or changing into shoes often, I may try something different. I also had this in a foyer so it was not outside.

Bought this one to replace one similar to it that has served well over the past 10+ years and is now retired. I believe that coir mats are a compelling choice and are perhaps second to none. Yes, they can shed, yet I've found that the shed fibers stay outdoors and a quick routine sweeping - an activity we do anyway - solves this issue. The main benefits are that it dries fairly quickly and need not be cleaned or tended to other than an occasional sun bathing to the underside; the coir fibers do not react to our high humidity (zone 8b) climate. This example seems to be well made and is a bargain @ $25 delivered. I will review again after using it for a while. BTW: I am a wheelchair user and have found coir to hold up well at the pressured tire contact areas. In fact, the old mat face shows no wear distinction between the tire tracked portions and the non tracked areas. These coir mats are just a great choice in general - very durable, long lasting, having an understated restrained elegant appearance. NOTE: The mat in the photograph shows only a single green dyed strip inset to the border edge. The one I received has two green strips - one at/around the border's edge and a second one inset to the first - either version is fine to my eye.

I purchased this rug for it’s longer length and more narrow width. I wanted a thick and durable rug as this sits at my front door entry. The black edging around the mat was very well done and made the mat look classy. I have had no problems with shedding as some reviewers have mentioned. I’ve been using it 2 months now and this time of year it is wet most every day. It is holding up beautifully. So glad I made this purchase.

Helps keep debris out of the house. Winter in Colorado brings snow, mud, crunched up leaves and lots of pine needles. This heavy duty mat encourages family to wipe their feet before they enter. It catches lots of traffic. Helps keep lots of the dirt etc. outside! Perfect size for our front door. It does shed, but to be expected with a natural product. I appreciate that it doesn’t have plastic components!

This mat is adequate and for the price is good. We happen to have purchased a mat from Frontgate at the same time for the front door-this one at the back. Of course the Frontgate mat is pricier, but the quality/density of the coir is noticeable and this mat is shedding a significant amount. It serves it's purpose and will last a few years I'm sure. I would buy again for the price and wear so far.
