Cooking Big Game

My husband, several family members and friends hunt-and while I have a game cookbook, my husband said he'd like to have this one. He's made a venison recipe and we lent it to our neighbor and he made a couple recipes that their family very much enjoyed. I wish I could remember what they were, but there are so many different recipes and you are bound to fine one or several that are to your liking, even if you aren't crazy about eating it, like me. :-)

Great for when my imagination is lacking due to a long day.

This book has a lot of good recipes for cooking big game and what I have tried, have been really good.

I was lucky enough to meet Tiffany Haugen at the International Food Bloggers Conference in Seattle in Spetember. As luck would have it, I was asking a fellow food blogger about where to get wild boar meat and he said he would introduce me to the expert - and there she was! Cooking Big Game is an excellent compilation of easy to make and wonderful tasting recipes. My husband hunts all types of big game and I love the variety of recipes for each and every one of them!! I have made the Shepherd's Pie, Candy Meat and Spicy Spaghetti and Meatballs! All are quick to make, with ingredients that are easy to find, and taste fantastic! I plan on trying many more of the recipes and definitely recommend this cookbook. I own almost all of Scott and Tiffany Haugen's cookbooks and love them all!

I like the variety of recipes in this cookbook. It is well put together, the ingridents are readily available and the recipes are easy to follow. I have tried the meat pies, the rosemary kabobs and the pot stickers. I plan to try Great-grandpa's Sauerkraut next - with pork, sausage on a polenta base, it sounds yummy!! I like cookbooks that have good pictures of the dish and information about each presentation. This cookbook has it all! I can heartily recommend this bookbook to the novice cook as well as the more experienced chef.
