Scott Hansen, better known as TYCHO & as graphic artist ISO50, spent nearly a decade since his last effort before dropping "Dive" on an unsuspecting public. It pays tribute to Tycho's prismatic past but spends most of it's time pointing to the project"s not-too-distant future. All versions come in slightly different variations of art!

One of the best ambient albums I've ever heard
One of the best ambient albums I've ever heard; It also has some of the most ENERGY from the genre I've heard. It's so relaxing at times, others completely energizing. Perfect for driving around in the late spring/summer/early fall. AWAKE is another perfect album from them.

it's cool but after a while of listening to it
it has sort of an 80's vibe. it's cool but after a while of listening to it, it sounds like I'm listening to the same song.

Trully and throughout enjoyable.
This is one of the best immersive sounds I have found, it's good to ease your ear away, half meditate, enjoy pure rhythm electro ambient sound or just have it as lounge cafe or friend reunion background melody. Best to be enjoyed with over the ear headphones or a high-end living room audio component in my opinion, but you could discard that or course; as long as you find this album of your liking it should be ok.

This is it!
If you're debating on the original trilogy of Tycho albums to get, I highly recommend this one. One of my favorites and the album that got me into in his work. I love the detail on the covers and the casing for each record is high quality unlike many other paper ones. Get it while you can.

Tychoは最高
Dive, Awake and Epoch make up a phenomenal trilogy. All solid albums start to finish. See them live if you can.

Exquisite.
I was introduced to Tycho last summer when my friend played some tracks for me. One of them was off this album. Later on I decided to check the whole thing out (along with some of his other stuff). Bought this CD to play in the car.Long story short, the music on "Dive" is absolutely fantastic, and some of Tycho's best. It takes downtempo, "chill" music to the next level. The mixture of old-school synths, guitar, flowing song structure, cool ambiance, and smooth production makes all of the tracks a joy to listen to. I (just now) tried to pick a favorite track, but couldn't decide on one. "Coastal Brake", "Ascension", and "Adrift" are probably closest, but only by a sliver. This music washes over you like a dream. The CD case is worth mentioning too. It's one of those paper kinds, but the best looking one I've seen. Has the "Dive" artwork on the front and back, and the inside has the track listings and some intricate diagrams that I can't describe because I don't have the CD in front of me. The CD slides in a protective layer from the side of the case. I have no qualms with any of this. All in all, I *highly* recommend this CD to anyone who likes ambient chillout music. This has become one of my all-time favorite albums.

Old school style...
Tasteful salute to the jazzy 80's cutting/mixing style with reminiscent Arrested Development/Pete Rock/CL Smooth'ish arrangements. A couple of cuts are a bit eccentric, but all are worth a listen.
