This has got to be the easiest and most comprehensive backup camera you could get.Easy install. Great screen. High value.I simply wired the camera into my backup light, and it shows the image nearly instantly.Gotta love how easy and useful this is. Includes gridlines for backup, so center of vehicle is best.

Hookup was a fairly simple job with tapping into the backup lights and the camera works perfect for my truck where a work topper obstructs my rear view. I do quite a bit of work where children might go behind me as I’m backing and I have a more confident feeling.

I like this camera system. The wireless connection solved some concerns for installation. I would give it a high 4 stars close to 5 as it is good for the price (especially with a $30 Amazon Coupon). I think the image is reasonable for an inexpensive system and it provides enough image for backing up safely. The night image is good enough too (black and white).However, the description states the monitor can be powered by a fuse box. I'm sure it can but the manufacturer does nothing to make that reasonable. The only power you can get is from a cigarette lighter adapter. The manufacturer does not provide a connector with any tinned wires or other means to connect to a fuse box or anywhere else and the plug to the monitor is tiny and non-standard so you can't simply try to make one yourself. You would have to cut the cord from the cigarette lighter adapter then figure out which tiny wire you need to connect to power and ground. No help from the manufacturer there either. And hopefully there aren't any other wires that you mess up because it uses a four-pin connector. Not wanting to risk that I'd damage the thing, I simply am plugging it in with it's far oversized cable. I now notice that another buyer mentions the same thing in a video he posted. Seems like he will gamble and cut the power cord then wire it in. Hopefully he provides some feedback about his experience. While I won't go so far as to call the description for this device as deceptive, it is careless and should provide more details.UPDATE: I received a response from the manufacturer to my review. They indicate they will improve their instructions in the future. In the meantime this is what I was told: "After cutting off the cigarette lighter adapter, you will see one red wire and one black wire, then connect the red wire to the accessory power fuse and the black wire to the ground. Cutting off the adapter does not invalidate the warranty. "Hope this helps anyone who wants to hardwire the display to a power source at the fuse box. There certainly is enough cable. As a result I've upgraded my rating to a solid four stars. The camera is working fine.

This camera is fantastic. The installation was relatively simple. The picture quality is very clear, it has good colors, and it is great to monitor the trailer being hauled behind your pickup. If I were to buy another one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one again.

I got this a little over a year ago now. I have a cargo box that mounts to a receiver hitch and it blocks the factory backup camera on my Grand Cherokee. So I got this to install on the cargo box and I can see behind me again. Due to the slightly different location of the cameras it takes a moment to get used to the scale of one vs the other, but it's quite functional. My only complaint is the mount. It's adjustable, and mostly stays, but occasionally I'll need to point it back up a bit and it's easily bumped down. I'm thinking of adding a dab of silicone behind it to help hold it in place but it's not be a real problem.Now, customer service: they surprised me. This company is in China. Everything is nowadays. A couple of months ago I was getting ready for a road trip so I tested my camera to make sure it still works. Again, it's mounted to the box so it only gets used when we use the box. At that time, it worked fine so I moved on with other prep. Come time for the actual trip and no camera. The screen would come on, it had power, but no image on the screen. Tried to re-pair the camera to no avail. This is the weekend before our trip, and literally a few DAYS before the end of the warranty. Now, FINDING the customer service email was interesting, but searching Google for AutoVox I found the company website and a Customer Support form on that website. I knew that I would be away from internet until after the warranty period expired but I tried anyway. They emailed me back, asking about symptoms. They mailed me parts to fix it after I got home, and when that didn't fix it they mailed me a whole new kit. That did fix it. They were friendly, courteous, and there was no communication barrier.Overall, this has been a really good little camera. Any product can have a malfunction. There are so many possible things to go wrong. But the way that they handled the problem, I will not hesitate to buy AutoVox products in the future.
