Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

According to miss Betty Edwards everybody has artistic talent and can be good at it.One only have to tune in to the creative, intuitive and artistic side of the brain- the right side- and will be able to draw accurate and imaginative portraits, landscapes, still lifes...All her experience given like lectures to her students, commenting after learning- “ life seems so much richer now and “ I didn’t realise how much there is to see and how beautiful things are”.This new way of seeing may alone be reason enough to learn to draw.

Like many of the older book which are padded out this one has lots of off topic nonsense to pad it out, the first 99 pages are devoid of anything that will teach you anything, and after that the body content is reallly low quality.I threw this in the bin after 30 minutes - it was cheap, the only good part, if I had a wood burner it would have been better, at least it would have created some warmth.

I ordered this book as I have just attended a drawing lesson and the tutor was using the book for a lot of The exercises so thought I should buy my own copy

The book was very informative but a bit much for a complete beginner like me. So only gave three stars.

this book I have been using for years to show students her way of doing things and it is has some wonderful exercises to try. All the things you need including how to see, which so many books don;'t give you. Perspective from an artists point of view as against an architectural point of view. Enough to make it useful without having to have a degree in the stuff before you open the pages.

Another used book from Amazon. I've bought quite a few over the years and every copy has been as described.Bought this one for a fellow artist friend who deals a lot with young children. It is very interesting to read and try Betty Edward's techniques which show non artists how to produce some amazing results.John Sinclair, Orkney
