- About this item Precise Swiss-quartz movement Performance stainless steel case and bezel; thermo Resin strap with fold over clasp with safety Luminous hands and indexes; date window at three o'clock Water-resistant to 660 feet (200 M).
Designed to always tell time with precision and elegance, this
Movado timepiece is a fashionable addition to any lady's
wardrobe.
Departing slightly from the minimalist design
it's cultivated over the years, Movado's Series 800 combines an
eye-catching luxury watch with the practicalities of a sports
watch without wholly sacrificing the spare modernism that is its
trademark. This mid-sized Movado Series 800 stainless steel,
Swiss quartz watch is a great match for both men and women, and
it features the signature large, luminous Movado dot at 12
o'clock, which has become symbolic of Movado watches and pays
homage to the famed Museum Series timepieces.
This all-black Movado Series 800 Swiss chronograph for men
features a stainless steel case that's been covered in a black
Thermoresin coating for optimized protection for all your active
pursuits. The mid-sized, round watch case is topped by a
perfectly circular unidirectional rotating bezel with elapsed
time markings in an austere, Helvetica-like font at the 10 minute
marks. The outer black ring of the bezel includes scalloped
indentations for an easy grip even under sweaty conditions. The
case is made from performance steel, a higher grade of stainless
steel that provides excellent durability and strength.
Additionally, the low nickel content in this surgical steel
quality offers improved hypoenicity.
Befitting its more sporty orientation, the wavy black dial is
complemented by luminous bar hour markers, small minute indexes,
and a date window at 3 o'clock. It also features oversized
luminous hands and a red seconds hand with a luminous dot at its
base. This precisely timed watch has a Swiss-made quartz
movement, which is accurate to 60 seconds per year.
Other features include a sapphire glass crystal for optimal
scratch resistance, screw down crown for maximum protection, and
water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to
the rigors of recreational scuba diving. It's completed by a
black Thermoresin strap, which offers built-in UV protection and
includes a fold over safety bar at the clasp for added security
while participating in active pursuits.

The art of Movado is the art of design.
Since its founding in 1881 by 19-year old entrepreneur Achille
Ditesheim in the village of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland,
Movado has achieved a legacy of design innovation, earning more
than 100 patents and 200 international awards for artistry and
innovation in watch design and time technology.
Movado, meaning "always in motion" in the international language
of Esperanto, is the hallmark of some of the most famous
timepieces ever created: the 1912 Polyplan, its revolutionary,
patented movement constructed on three planes to fit a case
curved to follow the wrist…the WWI Soldier’s Watch with its
elegant, protective grill…the 1927 Ermeto, a -shaped
pocket watch wound by the sliding motion of its case…the
innovative 1950’s Kingmatic series of rotor-driven automatics…the
Movado Artist’s Series by luminaries of the fine art world…and
the Movado Museum® Watch with its legendary dial.
Defined by a single dot at 12 representing the sun at high noon,
the Museum Watch dial is regarded as an icon of Modernism. It was
designed by Bauhaus-influenced artist Nathan George Horwitt in
1947. When Horwitt’s dial was selected for the permanent
collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1960, it was
the first watch dial ever awarded this distinction. The name
"Museum Watch" derives from this re. Today, Movado
watches are in prominent museums worldwide, and this legendary
dial distinguishes an entire collection of singular timepieces.
