Good stories with definite step up from stage 2
After reading a few reviews I wasn't sure if there was a big enough change from stage 2 to stage 3 but I can definitely say this is a nice step up. My 6yo lacks a bit of confidence reading and was settled reading the stage 2 book but I wanted to push her. This book is testing her confidence again but in a good way. She has to think about some words but without them being wildly difficult. There is a mix of fiction and nonfiction and the stories are a few pages longer than stage 2. This has again tested my 6yo. The pictures also help with telling the story and keeping interest.

Great book, just check stage as levels 2 and 3 are both stage 2.
Great resource with a range of exciting stories to interest the reader. My only recommendation is to check the stage as stage and levels on the songbirds scheme are different. I bought stage 3 as my child has moved onto level 3 songbirds but both level 2 and 3 are covered in stage 2. My mistake. Still a great book and we have ordered stage 2 until she is ready to move on to this.

My 5-year-old laughed and laughed at the Tim's Bad Mood story, and read it 3 times. Good range of stories, fun to read, and better value than buying the Oxford books separately.
