Great printer for the price!
Love this printer! Had a super tank competitor previously. The print quality wasn’t as good, was much slower and wouldn’t allow me to print from my phone after an update. This printer has much better color fidelity, AirPrint works flawlessly from all devices and comes in black (a color that was not available with a competitor’s product). Three things that could improve the printer, however at this price point I don’t expect two of them as possible. First, setup was tricky. No good step by step. You need to install the print heads first, then the ink before doing anything else. The guide Canon provided said nothing about this. Secondly, the auto document feeder is slow but I don’t mind that too much. Third, double sided printing would be nice without having to manually reverse the paper in the feeder after the first side prints. The last two points are to be expected for what I paid but all in all I would buy this printer again.

manual could offer more information but tech support in the end helped a great deal
bought this printer less than 6 months ago... came with starter ink... all was fine... except the see through window for ink levels NEVER displayed ink levels... yesterday it ran out of yellow ink... bought new ink went to refill and still not showing through the little windows... as bottle emptied i waited for it to completely empty... window never showed ink levels and it started to leak out the bottom of the machine... cleaned it all up oh well whatever... went to run a test print figuring it just didn't take a whole bottle still NO YELLOW Coming through...update: got through to tech support they walked me through another deep clean and then to REPLACE INK IN PRINT HEAD feature- took some time but it worked. also got a pro tip: the see through windows do not show the color of the ink so you need a flash light to see the levels, i had plenty of ink there was a bubble of air trapped in the yellow line and so the replace print head feature got the air bubble out and all is now fine with the printer...

Beware where product was produced.
The actual printer appears very nice. I have tho only now - 5-22/ purchased 5-8 - gotten it totally up and running with my desktop computer. Running a new Mac Mini, base model. Takes a bit to process a print request, but then prints nicely and fast. Have only done a few test color prints, using typing vs. print paper. Color does not seem as sharp as previous machine, but again could be paper used. Very compact. Loved the manor in which ink is added and potential for MUCH cheaper ink in future due to MegaTanks.BuT!!!!!!!!!! It turns out Canon produces their machines out of various regional areas. The problem with this is multiple. The printer I received was a Canadian model, meaning it was produced out of the Canadian region for Canon. It thus could not be registered for warranty work in the US. It had to be registered in Canada, which also means any repair work would need to be sent out to a Canadian repair facility rather than say, local Best Buy. How I would do this I have no clue. Also the ink containers and mating ports on the printer are different between regions. Thus ink containers purchased locally - live in Wisconsin - will not mesh with my current machine. I will need to find a Canadian supplier who will ship the ink to me with all the potential hassles of monetary exchange, tariff costs, et. al.Lastly, I found that the Canon printers Scan feature is NOT compatible with current Apple software. There is a workaround, but need extra software and go through a number of extra steps to do a scan. You will not be able to just insert a document and push the scan button to send off info to your computer directly.HOpe this all helps.

Love the large capacity ink system
Don't have to deal with monthly ink program like my old printer sucked me into. I like the large capacity ink system and the fact we at pressured into a pay per page ink replacement monthly plan makes me happier than ever with this printer. I print beautiful photos and clear copies. easy to make scans and print documents.

Works Great, But......
I really like Canon home printers, this is my second one after having other brands prior that I had nothing but problems with. My last Canon lasted a long time until my husband accidentally dropped something heavy on it and broke it, I was sad to have to replace it because it worked flawlessly every time I needed it. So I found another one to replace it but even better, this one is way better as it has a huge ink capacity with individual liquid inks that you can refill as needed rather than a single all in one cartridge, it scans and prints faster, etc. It's a great printer, however my only gripe is that the BlueTooth turns off and does not stay on standby like it should for ease of use. It has BlueTooth just like my last one, but does not stay on standby so that I can just send something to print from my phone or laptop without having to go over to the printer and turn it on. I keep thinking it's a setting that I do not have set correctly but I cannot find it anywhere. Hopefully it's just my unit so any others do not have this defect. I will have to call customer service and see if they can help me out, if so I will update this review. Even with the BlueTooth hassle, it's still a great all in one unit!
