1864 Two Cent Piece Old US Civil War Antique Copper Coin

This coin is just fantastic!!! I am assuming only the people who would care about history have heard of a two cent coin. I literally almost cried while holding this coin, just thinking about the history of it!!! A civil war soldier probably held this coin! Just like the ad said, this is dated 1864 (152 years old!!!) The front is in very nice shape. There is a lot of detail still left. I know there were bad reviews saying it is so worn it just looks like a brown circle, but mine is in excellent shape! To answer questions, this is a LARGE MOTTO two cent piece. On the front, the words IN GOD WE TRUST are visible 3/4. The "WE" is completely worn off. On the back, the whole UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is visible, along with 2 CENTS and the wreath. I can only say "wow" to this coin. It is in much better shape than I expected! Just think that this coin was made during Lincoln's presidency!!! Also, cool fact, the two cent piece is the first coin to feature IN GOD WE TRUST on it. This coin was worth it and a great buy! I purchased this coin as a gift, and it arrived as pictured. I was a bit worried due to the mixed reviews, but I am definitely pleased. Considering the age of the coin, it’s in pretty good condition. I just wish it was sent in a coin sleeve and not a ziplock bag, but that’s not a show stopper.

I've been a fair-weather collector for years and existing in that milieu means plenty of transactions just like this one. I am very aware of the money invested here and no houses were mortgaged to make this purchase. Regardless the coin I paid for was non-existent! I'm talking scrap folks, to frame it as a cull or cast off would have been way too generous and an exaggeration. To have paid three dollars would have been a gross over payment for this copper slug devoid of any credible markings. A total sham you want to stay clear of unless that $40.00 has somehow angered you and it must be squandered keep it in your pocket!

Nice gift for a coin collector. Some people said they received the wrong date but mine came just as advertised. The details weren't as fine as in the picture, most of the America has worn off, but considering the age of the coin and the price you pay for it, it is worth the money.
