I've been thinking of ditching my Cox Panoramic router ($16/mo) for some time and this weekend I just did it. I chose this modem/router because of reviews and ratings I read, both on Amazon and elsewhere. Some other brands had terrible ratings, most being cheaper, so I wanted to avoid those. It was more than I was going to spend, but you get what you pay for. The set up was easy, I just called Cox and the rep walked me through every step. She stayed on the line with me until I had both an ethernet and a wifi connection. Hat tip to them. This model covers 2,000 sq ft and our home is 1,900. My unit is approx. in the middle of the house. At first the Wi-Fi was much slower than with the Cox unit. I realized I had logged on to the 2.4 band rather than the 5.0 band. Once I logged on to 5.0 with all of our devices, the speed was very fast. I would highly recommend this. Very glad I got this one.

We finally decided to stop renting a Comcast/xFinity modem and switch to owning one. Best choice ever! Setup and activation was easy, and we now have better WiFi coverage in our 2600 square foot house; Internet speeds are fantastic!This modem will pay for itself in 18 months, and I expect it to last for a decade!

Decent router great speeds doesn't look or feel cheap and setup was a breeze. However for the price I was hoping for abit more out of it. This is a modem router combo and the 2ghz wifi goes throughout the house but the 5ghz wifi seems to lose strength just a room or two away even with line of sight. Upgraded to this to save on ISP rental fees and to improve VR wireless gaming. Results were okay but i think an additional router to boos the signal from this would make all the difference. This is a good base unit but for intense gaming and VR you would likely want an additional router to connect to it down the line.

We recently bought a NetGear Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi 5 model and could handle our 500mb plan no problem. But me and my fiancée being avid gamers and running 2 consoles at the same time, we would lag quite a bit. We upgraded to a 1000mb plan with Xfinity and realized the old modem only could take up to 800mb so we were getting around 200mb of packet loss and lag spikes. I’m sorry if this is all fancy terminology so please feel free to google the terms if you need. If you’re still with me, this modem supports up to 2700mb which give us the necessary cushion if we ever upgrade to an even higher plan. It’s really nice to have and the app makes it so nice and simple to name and differentiate all the different devices linked to your WiFi to make sure you don’t have any straggling devices. It’s obv a wireless connection and getting this for only 255$ instead of the retail 380$ was a steal! I know a lot of people complain about the value for money and it being too expensive, but I got a great deal around the holidays and got a discount since it came later than expected (only by 2 days) so I’m not complaining at all. Such a huge chance in comparison to the only Nighthawk. Even comes with a 90 vulnerability scan of all devices that connect to it which is awesome! Buy with no hesitation and if you’re a bit tech savvy it should be pretty easy to set up. And if you find it around the 300$ mark, even better! Hope this helps someone in need. Cheers!

I had been using an older Motorola combo modem router, but it was slowing down and needed replacement. Just installed the Netgear Nighthawk. Downloaded the app, it was all very simple. Longest part, my ISP is cox, so I had to call them to remove the old modem and add the new Netgear modem and activate. That took 20 minutes, but once activated, I can already see the difference in speed and range. I have a Traeger smoker in the back yard that is internet ready, but my old modem router signal was too weak to connect. I just connected with the new netgear router, so I'm pretty pleased and recommend this product. Using the app is easy and cool, was able to run a speed test and other diagnostics! All good!
