An affordable alternative
It took me a while to write this review because I was disappointed when I first got this. This device comes with very basic instructions and the videos on the internet make it seem fairly easy to set up. However, it was hard to find the right distance between the projected area and the camera. After many, many tries, I was ready to give up on this. Somehow, I figured it out. At first, I thought that the projected area couldn't be more than 40-45 inches and the camera should be placed not farther than 3 meters. It turns out it still works on a 70 inch-display area and a distance of 4.5 meters. I use Windows and my PC resolution is 1366 X 768 and the TOMI works great. So far I have used to to play drag-and-drop games, click-on activities, or select choices form pull-down menus. I haven't tried writing on a virtual canvas with it yet.My recommendation is to play around with the camera placement until you can calibrate it. At this price, I believe TOMI V6 is the most affordable choice if you want to have an interactive board in the classroom. The software to control it is free and you don't have to subscribe to any site in order to use it. There is a companion site (that requires a paid subscription) for further professional development.Now, after nearly 9 months I can finally say that I'm satisfied with this purchase.
