Dangerous
Based off of the item I received, I would not recommend this item to anyone. The orange container that holds the eggs seems to be very cheaply made, and has some really sharp corners. The little tabs you have to lift up to open it, have really pointy sharp corners. I wouldn't trust my kids to play alone with this, as it could literally slice their finger if they tried to open it themselves. The eggs themselves are okay. The main problem is the case. It's also nearly impossible to close the case easily, as the eggs have to be positioned perfectly. They don't sit firmly in the groove made for the eggs and so they move all around, making it really difficult to close.I'm returning this and purchasing a different egg sorting set that I had seen in person before and should have gotten instead of this one. Save yourself the time and spend the extra $5 to get the yellow one with more eggs in it (different brand).

Suggestion on how to open eggs!!
I was so excited to get these to add to our 2 year old Grand-daughter’s Easter basket. Unfortunately they were SO hard to open! The case is very difficult to open also. LolHOWEVER...after breaking two nails and subjecting our dog to listening to a lot of cursing, I think I accidentally came across a hack: Don’t try to PULL them apart. Open them like you would crack a real egg. Thumbs on top and “break” open, facing up. I don’t know how easy it would be to explain this concept to a toddler yet. But they open much easier this way. It’s a shame because it’s a really good tool. The shapes and colors inside the eggs are very appealing and fit together well. So, if you want to open them all yourself and then have the child put them together it’s a great matching and fine-motor skill game.Or try demonstrating the “break apart” method. Also: the eggs have to be put back in the case perfectly or it won’t close and it’s hard for ME to open. So I may put these in a real egg carton and decorate/personalize it with her name. :) Good luck!! :D

Strong and can withstand knocks on the floor
Bought this for our 13month old son. He likes them and scatters them all on the floor.. Keeps kicking them all around. What I like however is that it's made from durable material as he knocks them everytime on the ground and they withstand the hits and none is broken yet. They really look like real eggs. While he has not started matching them using their colours, if an egg is opened for him, he easily uses the shape to match them, though he will have difficulty doing that if all eggs are opened in front of him.The downside is that it can be hard to open as he normally struggles trying to open it. He cries out and we help him open it. Once he matches it, he cries out again.

Difficult to open
As great as I want these to be for my son to learn shapes, they’re not very suitable for kids. It’s difficult for me as an adult to pull the eggs apart, I don’t see how my son would be able to. There’s a couple that I still haven’t gotten and it’s been a week since he got them.

Impossible toy, poor quality
I should have read the reviews. So many people were saying the case and eggs were difficult to open or poorly made - and it’s 100% true. I purchased this for my son’s birthday and he was excited to dive in, and he couldn’t open a single one. It says they may be “tight” the first time you open them, but they were impossible. I tried banging them on things, cracking like a real egg, and finally had to use a thin tweezer to create space for my nails to fit and open each one. My son quickly went from frustrated to angry as he closed them and realized he couldn’t re-open any. Would not recommend this to anybody.

Not toddler friendly
I was disappointed with this toy. The eggs have to be pushed together really hard for them to stay together, which in turn makes them very hard to take apart (my 20 month old cannot get them apart on her own). Additionally, the eggs have to be standing up perfectly straight in order for the case to close. Overall, not user friendly for a young child.

Great for fine motor skills
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These matching eggs are not only going to teach your child colors and shapes but also going to help them work on their fine motor skills.And... they come in a cute little carry case that keeps them all together.

Shapes and colors - great game
Great toy for shapes and colors. One of the nice things is that you can lay all of the half eggs into the carton so they are not rolling away on a table. The shapes also fit together well when turning the pieces. The carry case is compact and you can bring it with you in the car and not have all the eggs on the floor. The colors are distinct enough to be able to match them well. There are more learning shapes than the shape block we have and this game increases cross-brain training since you have to use both hands at once to put the eggs together.
