Can i put this on my kayak to help stability it better than its now.

You could not sure how much it would really help though. I rolled my radisson with these on, more for looks then anything else

Do you have to seal the bolts where they penetrate the hull?

No, most people don't. The manufacturer does not on new canoes. The holes are above the waterline, and should be a tight fit to the bolts, plus the sponson material is pressed tight to the outside surface all around. You might get a teaspoon or two through the holes in the course of a day from splash, but nothing significant. You could seal with silicone caulk if you wanted to.

There are no instructions why

If you buy from the seller "Portable Sailboats" (also known as "Sailboats To Go") you will get instructions written by that seller. Radisson does not provide instructions. Other sellers do not provide instructions, to my knowledge. Here is what you need to know: The sponsons should be located above the waterline. You might want to put your canoe on the water, load it with the normal amount of weight including people, and mark the waterline. To attach, drill 7 holes each side: One near each end of each sponson and 5 evenly-spaced in between, going thru the fattest part of the sponson and thru the wall of the canoe. Use 2 washers on each bolt, one inside and one outside. Whether you put the bolt head on the inside and the nut on the outside, or vice versa, is up to you. Sealant is not necessary since the holes are above the waterline. If you want to use sealant, go ahead. Silicone would be suitable. If 4 eyebolts are provided in place of 4 of the bolts, their purpose is to provide anchor points on the inside for bungee cords, with the idea that you will park your paddles between the side of the canoe and the bungees when not in use. Some sellers provide eyebolts and some do not. Portable Sailboats does not.

I didn’t get the eye bolts in my hardware. Does anyone know what size they are?

If you bought from SailboatsToGo, also known as Portable Sailboats, you can contact us and we would send the eyebolts. 978-263-7598 To answer your question, they are 3 3/4" long over-all. The straight part is 3 inches. The diameter is the same as the diameter of the bolts -- #10 bolt size.

Perfect replacment!

Purchase this Sponson kit to replace the deteriorating ones on my Radisson 14ft Canoe. I was gifted this canoe and once i had researched it I was very excited to learn I could still get parts. Having these sponson replacements gives the canoe a fresh look and more importantly they add the flotation back that the canoe once had when new. I also went to the Kenco Outfitters and order 2 of the plastic canoe end caps that were broken as they have everything needed to do the repairs to my canoe. Surprisingly there are a lot of the original parts still available for this canoe and I would highly recommend this one.

It survived the biggest waves of Hall Bay on Eleven Points River!!!

I was reluctant to drill holes on each side. Industrial Velcro looked like a possibility so I did a 2” x 9’ down each side of the canoe but that left unacceptable gaps on the top and bottom. Then I added the stainless bolts on each side to squeeze it in and reduce the gaps. Lastly I went ahead and added permanent gorilla duct tape around the entire perimeter to seal up all of the cracks. Heavy duty all weather velcro, stainless bolts nuts and washers, and permanent duct tape will be put to the test in southern Missouri pedaling Eleven Point, Jacks Fork, and Current rivers

The Radisson sponson kit is of outstanding quality. I bought the Sportspal version for my Sportspal canoe a couple of years ago and the Radison version is far superior.
