Fast and necessary for broadband greater than 1G (just ensure your switch is 2.5G or greater)!
If you have a hard wired network at home and are using CAT5E or greater network cables and are still using a gigabit ethernet card, it might be time to upgrade to 2.5G especially if you have greater than 1G broadband. This card does 2.5G transfers flawlessly and is a simple plug and play PCI-E card. Windows 11 instantly recognizes it without the need to install any drivers. It does come with a small format CD to install drivers for older systems that don't recognize it. My simple test is always running the usual gigabit ethernet card (built into the motherboard on most PC's) and checking the bandwidth (I have 1200 Mbps download connectivity although it gives me a little more). Without a 2.5 Gbps ethernet card I would always get less than 1G downloads (see my speed test results, I only got 700 Mbps download). Install the 2.5G card and ensure you match it with a at least 2.5G network switch otherwise you'll defeat the upgrade and I get over my 1200 Mbps download speed (closer to 1300 Mbps). It works excellent. Transferring files back and forth between my PC's on my home network is speedy now. Your drives have to be fast otherwise the drives will be the bottleneck, but , transferring between two M.2 drives that can handle over 2.5G gives blazing fast results. For the price and quality of this 2.5G card, it's worth every penny!

Fast, Reliable, and Future-Proof – Excellent Network Upgrade!
I recently upgraded my PC with the BrosTrend 2.5Gb PCIe Network Adapter, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I installed it, the difference in speed and stability was clear. Setup was quick and easy—Windows 10 recognized the card immediately and installed the necessary drivers without any issues. The jump from standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet to 2.5Gbps has been a game-changer for transferring large files across my home NAS and streaming 4K content with zero buffering. The included low-profile bracket was a great bonus for fitting into my compact build, and the build quality of the card itself feels solid and premium. The fact that it comes with limited lifetime protection is just the cherry on top—it’s clear the company stands by their product. If you're looking to future-proof your network setup or simply want faster and more stable wired performance, this card is an outstanding value. Highly recommended!

Card works fine. Great support!
I installed the 2.5gb PCIE card in my Windows 10 machine and it activated instantly at rated speed upon power-on! I reached out to tech support via their website to ask if I needed to install the drivers and was happy to have received a reply within hours! No need to install them. I'm impressed.

Works with Synology 1821+
I recently got a NAS with a 2.5 gbe port and I wanted to utilize it to transfer data back and forth from my Synology DS 1821+. Did a quick search and this was one of the only cards that others were using for their Synology but not specifically for the 1821+. It was cheap so I decided to take a shot. Worked like a charm! Didn't need to set anything up outside of swapping the face plate which too like 2 minutes. I sent over 100 gigs of data and was able to saturate the line. Super glad this worked.

Driver issues for Linux
Works as described. Full speed test successfully ran. Just hate RealTek hardware bc of driver support. RealTek drivers are the biggest pain. Especially on linux. Windows is a different story. If Realtek got their drivers working properly itd be a 5 star

This card doesn't support Receive Side Scaling
This card is supposed to support RSS but the option isn't present in the driver settings. When trying to install the driver from their site the card ceases to function. You have to remove it to use the card. I didn't notice until after the return window that this card doesn't support it because things have been hectic and I just now realized I didn't set up things how I had them prior to replacing the old damaged card. Other than that it's been working fine, but it is quite disappointing I'll have to buy another TrendNET card. I only bought this BrosTrend because my TrendNET was damaged by lightning and I wanted to try this one based on some other factors. It's supposed to support RSS, though. Not supporting a feature it's supposed to support is false advertising and therefore automatic 1/5 stars, unfortunately. If it wasn't for this flaw I'd rate it 5, or maybe 4 due to the issues with their drivers.

Bought this after I bought the BrosTrend 2.5g switch and it really does work a treat. I can now transfer files to my Synology at around 250Mbs per second. It was easy to install and came with a mini cd for the drivers. Very impressed with BrosTrend at the moment, also offer extended warranty when you register your product via their website.
