MAXPOWER 3-Piece Masonry Chisels Set, 11" Point Chisel and Flat Chisels, 8" Brick Chisel, with Thick Hand Guard

Great for my stone work.

Over all it did some work

First off I'm not a mason. I've been carving seats and words into large rocks in my back yard casually as a hobby. The previous chisels and rock hammer I was using must have been softer metal because they are very dull and their edges are even a little bent. When I switched to these I started removing 10x the rock in the same amount of time. I have done more with these in a month than with my previous tools in the year and half since COVID started.

Strong and sturdy chisels!

I really like this chisel set at first. The chisels are heavy and looked like it could take a lot of pounding and still be in good shape. I like the handguard; it is made of rubber and plastic, but I did not like the plastic being on the top. The rubber should be on top so when the hammer hits it, it can absorb the impact. I used all the chisels in this set to remove some red bricks embedded in concrete with mortar. I removed about 20 pieces of red bricks with this chisel set, took me about an hour. The problem I had was with the handguard. Each time I hit the chisel with the hammer for some reason the handguard would rise up until it was at the very top of the chisel. All three chisels did the same thing. I tried to push the handguards back down, but they would not go back down. This became a big problem. Each hit I made on the chisel started damaging the top of the handguard, I did not like it at all. The metal on the chisels were still very good after all the chiseling I did but the hand guards were starting to get messed up.

The quality is an issue. The rubber sheath is already slipping down after only about an hours use.

I liked that they got here fast, and these are pretty much as described. But I will never buy from this vendor again due to the way they were packaged loose in a box that arrived busted open. No packaging whatsoever. Just heavy steel chisels banging around in a failure prone corrugated box.

Purchased these to chip away old concrete from postholes. They worked well and I REALLY appreciated the had guards. Depending upon the project and technique, be patient in your chipping. They work, are heavy duty, and clearly are the last set I'll need to purchase. Glad I did.

Die Meisel sind gut verarbeitet und die Gummigriffe schützen die Hände zuverlässig vor Verletzungen, wenn man mal mit dem Hammer daneben schlagen sollte.Einziges Manko, die gummigriffe verrutschen während der Benutzung, sodass nach kurzer Zeit der Gummigriff und der Metallstift auf den man eigentlich schlägt auf gleicher Höhe sind.

Ich hatte vor, eine Vogeltränke aus Stein zu meißeln. Mit diesem Werkzeugsatz kein Problem.

Pagué $802MXN (40 USD) por el kit, hasta ahora solo he utilizado 2 de ellos pero me han resultado excelentes.Me parece un precio bueno por estos cinceles, especialmente por la goma que tienen al rededor para sujetarlo y evitar golpearte con el mazo. En actividades de demolición y con un maso de demolición estas guardas plásticas te pueden salvar de un mal golpe y de perder una uña.

I didn’t get the complete set I got two of the same chisel/bolster and to rectify is gonna require me sending this set back and waiting for days unhappy as the set seems strong and looks good and feels good but not having what I paid for come is annoyingly frustrating when setting up

Ich habe mir die Meißel gekauft, um 8cm dicke Betonsteine zu trennen. Dabei habe ich von allen Seiten die Schnittkante mit einer FLEX angesetzt & zum Schluss von der Unterseite des Steins mit dem Flachmeißel & Hammer den Rest durchtrennt. In diesem Fall war die Bruchstelle in der Mitte zwar nicht so schön & musste auch nachbearbeitet werden, aber denke dennoch dass ich eine enorme Zeitersparnis hatte.Natürlich sah man mit der Zeit auch Macken. Und auch die Schnittkante war etwas angeschlagen, aber ich konnte den Stein problemlos mit zwei oder drei Schlägen trennen. Und das war was ich wollte.Für mich passt die Preis-Leistung.
