Seamless Connectivity and Efficiency
As a solutions architect who has recently started working from home, I needed a reliable and high-speed network card to handle my upgraded home internet connection, which is now a fiber connection at 5Gbps+. I also required higher throughput to my work's datacenter. The 10Gtek 10Gb Dual RJ45 Port Network Card with X540 Controller has proven to be an excellent choice.First and foremost, this network card delivers outstanding performance. With dual RJ45 ports and the X540 controller, it supports 10Gbps speeds, ensuring that my connection remains fast and stable. This has been crucial for my workflow, as I often need to transfer large files and access remote servers without any lag.Upgrading my home internet to a fiber connection at 5Gbps+ meant I needed a network card that could handle such speeds efficiently. The 10Gtek network card has met these demands perfectly, providing the necessary throughput to my work's datacenter. This has significantly improved my productivity, allowing me to access and manage data quickly and efficiently. The installation process was straightforward, and the card works seamlessly with my Windows systems and Hyper-V servers. The packaging was fantastic, and the install was as simple as expected. However, the only negative experience I had was finding compatible drivers. Windows Update didn’t recognize the hardware, and the manufacturer’s website didn’t have any readily available drivers. I ended up going to the chip manufacturer’s website and found the appropriate driver, which I successfully installed. No driver disks or instructions were provided. The build quality of this network card is on par with what I expected, providing a solid and functional product. It feels robust enough for long-term use without being overly impressive. Additionally, the card's design ensures efficient heat dissipation, preventing overheating even during prolonged use. One feature I particularly appreciate is the network activity lights, which, while almost standard, provide clear indicators of network status and activity. The device is also void of any additional noise, making it ideal for a quiet home office environment.Additionally, the value for the money is exceptional. This network card offers high-end performance and features at a reasonable price point, making it a great investment for anyone needing reliable network connectivity. In summary, the 10Gtek 10Gb Dual RJ45 Port Network Card with X540 Controller is an excellent investment for anyone needing high-speed and reliable network connectivity. It has significantly enhanced my home office setup, providing seamless and efficient access to my work's datacenter. If you're looking for a network card that offers great value for the money, exceptional performance, and broad compatibility, I highly recommend this product. Despite the minor inconvenience with the drivers, it has been a game-changer for my workflow and connectivity needs.

Easy install/config, great speed, no problems.
I have been using this for a little over a week with zero problems. Does everything I expected and works perfect with multiple VLANs (UniFi Network 9.3) and VMs (VirtualBox 7.2) in my Homelab. I used the Windows 11 30.3 drivers from Intel (Wired_driver_30.3_x64.zip) which was easy to install. Be aware that Intel PROSet/ANS is not supported on Microsoft Windows 11 in case that is important to you, but that is not something I needed. I am using this with 10gtek LC fiber transceivers.

This is one great NIC
Great NIC with a solid chipset that are fast, reliable and well supported. Note that Windows 11 does not natively support this NIC, so visit Intel and get the driver and keep it handy. It was plug and play with TrueNas Scale. I've since got other products from 10Gtek, they make great stuff. Highly recommend.

Initial impression. Works as expected. Major upgrade for my DIY NAS host.
I am recycling a 2014 AMD FX 8 core gaming PC to be a NAS to store data for my small business / SOHO network. This thing was a direct drop in / plug and play with the old PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and operates and full speed. Configuration in OpenMediaVault (Linux) was simply a matter of setting the IP parameters and enabling this controller, disabling the original onboard 1 gig and now I have network connectivity that will outstrip the SATA III disks handily...This uses an established Intel chipset so compatibility between this and the old AMD chipset is quite good.I had opted initially for another brand that worked, for 4 days... I will update my review if there are any problems but as it sits right now, it is working perfectly, and from what I can SEE anyway, it all looks quite high quality, every bit as good as the official Intel cards used in enterprise class servers at a fraction of the cost for this SOHO application.

No Windows 11 Pro Driver in Windows Updates
Works as designed.Bought this from Amazon Resale for a song. Came with all the parts and worked. This card runs warm. However my case has VG ventilation and is not an issue. There was no driver for Windows 11 Pro Update to automagically install the part. A manual install of the Windows 10 driver was necessary. If you know what you're doing its not hard, still was not a "point 'n click" installation.

Impressive. Love it. Takes advanage of super speed ISP
Easy install. No issues. We have 5 Gig Google Fiber. I connected this NIC by DAC directly to a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Fiber DAC port. Awesome throughput. If you pick this up and have a DAC port, get the DAC version and DAC cable, you won't be disappointed. The speed is phenomenal and you won't be disappointed in the connectivity.

Will NOT work with Debian / Proxmox in X58 BIOS system
Intel drivers for debian linux are unsigned and will not work on old pre-UEFI systems. All modern kernels recognize the PCIe device, but modprobe complains about the driver signatures and refuses to attach the ixgbe driver to the card.Lights on the board and my switch both indicate that the board is connecting at 10gb just fine, but categorically will not work with current debain kernels. The card appears well made. I spent a LOT of time attempting to get the drivers to work (including compiling them from Intel sources) but nothing worked.

Works with Proxmox
Works great with my home set up. Not Shute about windows drivers, but Linux already have it by default. Used it with DAC cable and SFP single mode transceivers - no issues. Speed is good. Works with Proxmox, Debian.
