This hatched sheath fits my Estwing hatchet perfectly. The fit and finish of the leather is great, and it's much easier to place and remove than the synthetic sheath that comes with the hatchet. Love this American made leathercraft!

The original nylon sheath was a piece of crap. I got this and boy was I pleased by the leatherwork, and it fits much better than the original.As a member of the AFGE, I also appreciate the fact that it’s made in the USA, by fellow union members and veterans.Bravo Zulu guys.

Looks great fits great wayyyy easier to put on than the OEM sheath from Estwing or the “full head covered belt loop” leather sheath someone makes specifically for this hatchet. I have one of those too and it’s a beautiful piece of kit but in practice I’ve found it too cumbersome to pull and remove the hatchet out of it while working compared to a belt mounted designed as a “hammer loop” which fits the hatchet perfectly and that’s what I use to carry the hatchet while I’m working. And if I know I’m not going to be using the hatchet for a long time or if I’m just hiking in and out of somewhere or if I’m doing something where I’m worried about the blade being exposed I just pull this itty bitty sheath out of my back pocket and throw it on the hatchet.So of all the hatchets I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a LOT in the last 40+ years) the 14 inch estwing is my favorite and carrying it with a hammer belt loop (the kind mounted on your belt not the kind sewn into some styles of work pants) with this tiny sheath is my all time favorite.

I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship of this sheath. Not to mention it fit my Estwing hatchet restoration project like a glove. You cannot go wrong should you decide to purchase this sheath. Will definitely buy more American Bench Craft products!

I bought this leather guard for another made in America product, the Erstwing hatchet. I tend to keep my axes sharp so the leather guard is a must. Would I buy another one, you bet.

Perfect fit!

It doesn't fit the estwing it say it's made for and the snap closure won't close or secure the hatchet in anyway. Also, unlike the cover that comes with the estwing hatchet this doesn't have a belt loop.It's a pretty piece of leather craft but unless it's your last option it's a bad option.
