Does what it's intended to do, seems well made.
I purchased this belt to replace the mouse-chewed one on my 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, and it works better than the one I took off (which was likely worn and stretch anyway, it was the original belt). It seems to work good, and fits well. Doesn't slip, but is a bit tight for the first few hours, making it a bit difficult to switch gears, especially if the idle is 1,200 RPM or higher (factory is 1,200 +/- 200 RPM). I reset my idle down to around 1,000 rpm and that seems to help, but I'm sure once the belt is worn in it'll work fine.

Great alternative to OEM
Works great in my 1999 Polaris Scrambler 500. Put it on before riding Wolf Pen Gap and no issues whatsoever. Have around 10-11 hours on the belt and so far so good!

2011 sportsman 500 HO
Visibly wider than my 15 year old original belt fitment was great and was not incredibly hard to install whole job took 30 min taking my time Only down side is now my machine is hard to change gear and creeps forward or reverse depending on the gear I’m not sure if maybe my idle is set too high but so far it rides like new again super smooth and regained power

been using gates belts for 15 years now
Great belt, easy to install, I purchased for my 2000 Polaris magnum 2x4. Kept it in my bag just in case and it blew out on a trail ride last week. After 15 minutes to replace it ran like a new machine. I will be purchasing another just in case and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. .. also folks I have been using gates belts on industrial equipment for years they are one of the best belts you can buy so they a are worth a few extra bucks.

Belt as described, pefect fit.
Its been a couple months since install. After correct break in procedure, pulled small logs and trees out of woods with a 6x6 ranger. Logs were not on wheels, dragged them by chain. Have definitely put this thing under way more strain than the vehicle or the belt was designed for, it has held up very well. Even had it hot enough to see a bit of smoke in the cab a few times. The belt is still in good shape, not glazed too bad, still a smooth launch when needed. Have abised this product with no problems and no break downs. The initial break in procedure apparently is definitely key to the life of the belt.

Great quality belt
Great quality belt. I'm assuming that since nobody else has mentioned "my problem" that it's just an issue with my quad and not the belt's width. I have an '02 Polaris Sportsman 500 and when I installed this belt, I didn't check clutch clearance. Once assembled it could not idle in forward or reverse because "duhh" the belt was too thick for my clutch's shim. That said, it's not a problem with my belt but is in fact fixable by adding shims to the clutch. Hopefully those damn shims come in the mail soon. TL/DR belt provides awesome torque if you're used to a worn/old belt but check your primary clutch clearance (should be .020") before putting the cover back on your quad. Update: I added shims to my clutch in order to fix my clearance problem. The belt rocks and works fine now. Note that after 13 years, it seems that my nylon space had melted and that may be why I had less clearance. This belt probably is the proper width and my clutch was probably just worn! Tthanks for reading!
