I can't believe I'm saying these words...I freaking love RAX!!!
"Does this woman have any idea what she's doing to me? This is torture on so many levels."OH MY GAHHHHH!! Rax, oh Rax!I'll tell you, I wanted to hurt Rax in Strings and Beats. He was sexy as hell, yes, but he was also moody and spiraling downward on a slippery slope that is caused by alcohol. But times they are a-changing! I freaking LOVE Rax!!By the end of the first chapter-or should I say Side A- I had changed my mind about him. Yes, he was cocky and still sexy, but he was also broken. Lord knows I'm a sucker for a broken man. Not only was he depressed from losing his best friend, but he also was struck in the face with a past he never saw coming."My urge to protect her from herself is about to trump my desire to help her."Rax and Eve are not the coventional couple. Not in the least. He lives the live of sex, booze, and rock-n-roll. She lives the life of sex, money, and imprisonment. The more Eve tries to push Rax away, the more he fights to get to her. I loved seeing this change in him! Even though he was still heartbroken after Toombs, he couldn't shake Eve from his brain."This woman scares the crap out of me. I must have her.""Something tells me he's as lost as I am. Like recognizes like. Even when what we see is horrifying. He's my mirror. And that scares the hell out of me."There were some scenes in this book that were hard to take, I'll admit. Mainly because I wanted to jump into my kindle and scream at Eve for doing what she was doing, and to yell at Rax to stop drinking his life away!As Kendall wrote: "Two lost souls on a road to nowhere."One of the best things about this book was the dual POVs. I really liked how Kendall switched it from "Side A" to "Side B". That was truly unique! Plus, every chapter was a song title! My music loving heart loved it all! Each song represented that certain chapter perfectly.Unlike the first two books, this one had more suspense and drama. It took a somewhat more serious tone. Just when you thought the story was going one way something would throw you for a loop. The sex was hot and the words were hotter! This book had it all!"Her halo might be a little crooked, and she might be sporting tiny horns, but she really is an angel."On Eve's way down to Hell, Rax changes her life more than she ever though possible. What Rax doesn't even realize is that Eve saves him from his own personal Hell, as well. The change in Rax is unreal! I honestly couldn't believe I was pulling for him!! He was possesive, but also charming to a fault. I don't know how Eve stayed away from him."You're supposed to shut your eyes when you kiss a girl.""I never close my eyes when I'm kissing you. I don't want to miss a single second."Goodness me! He got to me!! They brought out the best and worst in each other, but it was the perfect combo. I didn't want their story to end! But I love how Kendall brought the story together in the final chapters. This whole series will stay with me! Not just becase of the hottest sex scenes EVA, but because it was a well written tale of The Rock and the people that live it!"Everyone deserves happiness, Rax. even the lowest of the low. Even us."

Rax & Eve β₯
The series that began with Strings, followed by Beats, finishes perfectly with Nocturnes. I loved every single element of this book. The warning alone gives you a peek at the level of humor and outrageous situations written on the page, but if you let that deter you from reading it, then you are missing out - huge. On the surface Nocturnes is crass, hilariously irreverent, profanity driven and sexually charged. But dive in and dig even a bit and you'll find that it's also pretty freaking sweet, with heart and characters that are hugely flawed but completely lovable. I loved this series, sad that it's over. After Beats, and the disastrous fallout of Rax's decisions, I was beyond anxious to find out what would happen for this hot, damaged, sexy, bad boy rocker. Well, I got my wish and it was awesome. When Rax gets drunk at a nightclub, Nocturnes, he is in full blown melt down. Wallowing in a pit of his own crap. In huge denial about Toombs and pissed at Jinx, he's isolating and drinking to the point of crazy. Imagine the awesome surprise that he gets when he stumbles into Lola, the stripper that he fell for in Strings. Well Lola is actually Eve, a stripper, that also has sex for money in Nocturnes' sex club. After blowing Rax off, she ends up needing his help and gets him involved in the most jaw dropping sexual encounter that I have ever read. My brain literally stopped working for that entire scene. My head is still shaking, trying to figure out the mechanics. That was crazy. If you've read the book you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't read the book, you'll know the scene I'm talking about when you get to it. Trust me, you can't miss it, even if you tried :)As Rax continues to drink his issues away, causing only more issues to arise, he also discovers the woman behind Lola - Eve. Told from the alternating point of view of Rax and Eve, Nocturnes was everything I wanted for Rax. It's rough and painful but I loved how Kendall Grey wrote it and where she took Rax and Eve.Rax and Eve are one of those perfectly matched book couples. I really love that they found each other, I don't think either one of them could have been with anyone else. Rax broke my bookish heart, but he also made me smile, cuz' I didn't hate him last time and this book just proves that I was right not to hate him. And Eve, crap, I loved Eve. This girl rocks. Seriously. Can I wish Killer Buzz Float to life and while I'm at it can I wish Just Breathe into life too? If you've read Kendall Grey's Just Breathe series there is an awesome cameo moment. Loved it β₯This is a series that I will love forever, they have a permanent spot on my Kindle and my bookshelf. If you haven't read the other books in the series, be sure you go back to the beginning and check them out before reading Nocturnes. There are characters, and situations that have happened from the other books that are important in this book. The only thing left now is for Jillian to get her own love life - pretty please Kendall Grey :)Originally posted on Me, Myself & Books Blog

Intense!
Audio review π§This audio is pretty mind blowing on so many different levels. Bringing Rax to the fore, with Eve, we are ringside for his often hilarious, but also painful, fall into the poisonous arms of alcohol. Eve's courageous, open approach to life has led her to dancing in Nocturnes and treading a thinning line with her own safety. The internal dialogue of both Rax and Eve work perfectly to highlight their pasts, their characters and their attitudes, while also underlining how very good a story is being told. Rax's 'relationship ' with alcohol is toxic and impacting everything and everyone. But he never wavers in his pull towards Eve.Both the narrators of this audio have been outstanding, and I admire their verbal aplomb when reciting some of the juicier, cruder parts of the book! A lot of fun and food for thought. Interesting combination, expecially in this setting. πππππ

Have you been Raxed yet!!!!
This book is so raw it hurts to read. It's lewd, crude and deliciously rude. I've loved the whole series and it has built momentum and got better and better, book by book. I have to say I didn't think Beats could be topped but Nocturnes just threw it on its head and stamped the hell out of it.Rax was portrayed up to now as a seriously flawed and unpleasant character who you loved to hate but Nocturnes turns your perception of him on its head and you can't help but fall in love with him. Rax is deeply troubled and is struggling to come to terms with being rejected by Toombs and Jinx. Rax turns to the bottle to exist in his empty life. Spurning his band mates he becomes a loner with only vodka for company. He unexpectedly finds the answer to his prayers in a strip club when he comes across the girl who has been haunting his dreams, Lola.Rax is falling so heavily that you wonder if he will survive the landing. The story is fast paced and you won't be able to put it down so make sure you have the time, or you are willing to do without sleep! As everyone knows there is a scene at the start of the book which makes you go WTF and there has been quite a lot of discussion about it. But let's face it, if you read these books you expect to be shocked so get over yourself, accept the scene for what it is and move on, albeit with clenched buttocks!!!!!Kendall Grey has become a legend because of these books. Would I recommend them to everyone, probably not, but if you are looking for a read totally unlike anything else you have ever experienced then this series is for you. I for one am so glad to have come across it.

Kendall Grey has definitely outdone herself!
After reading Strings and Beats i thought i knew what to expect with Nocturnes. Pfftt i was wrong! Yes it's dirty, trashy porn but it's so much more than that. I've got to admit that Rax has been my favourite from the start of this series, and this book broke my heart. There is a certain part in this book, which i had heard about, but reading it just made me feel so many conflicting emotions, it was written in a way that made me feel just as i imagine Rax did. I loved 'Lola' and of course the rest of the band especially Letty and her colourful expressions. Very, very impressed with this book. Fantastic story, characters and editing, not to mention the brilliantly described sex (as usual). And although Nocturnes is funny in parts, it also delves into the darker side of life like prostitution and alcholism. If you've read Beats and Strings then you need to hear Rax's story. Definitely 5/5 for me, another great book from Kendall.

Smoking hot
This book comes with a warning and it is justified. It is so hot you might burn your fingers reading it. I was a bit naughty because I read the Hard Rock Harlots series out of order. I read this one first - but it is the last book. It meant when I read the others I was already a bit in love with Rax and I understood and forgave his bad behaviour in Strings and Beats.Did I say it was sexy, well it is really, really, really sexy? Is THAT really possible though? I don't think so not without causing some real damage!!! You will know what I mean if you are brave enough to read.
