Love these!
These jack stands are rock solid and feel really sturdy. The wide base gives me peace of mind when working under my car, and the quality is definitely worth the price. I’d highly recommend them for anyone needing reliable support in their garage!

These things are BEASTS!
When the only thing between you and getting crushed by a falling vehicle, you do NOT want to cheap out. These are expensive, but super heavy-duty and strong.

Heavy and Impressive
The media could not be loaded. Yeah I mispronounced Hein-Werner. The base is Large about 12 x 10 inches and its tall about 16 inches. I have yet to use them but I wanted to get something that felt strong and well made. The welds around the neck are continuous. The two halves of the base have a seam weld from the inside from the arrow arch between the halves apex to the neck line, solid continuous. The feet have small plates welded to the corners its kinda thick doesn't feel like it would break off if forced. The corners are bent but more like a pipe not like a metal box.. continuous. In the video you should see how thick the metal plating of the neck and the base are. I've put it through no structural test, but they just feel substantial, like they could take a lot force. The paint is heavy duty its got to be enamel, it won't rub off.. could probably take a lot of scraping.. maybe a chisel to chip it off. It has a shiney glaze look to the surface. If it help any for scale I wear a size 8. I don't think I did a good job conveying the scale of how big these are. In all of the pictures online they look kinda small. These start at 16 inches tall, so you probably only want to use them with a truck or where you need a lot of clearance. No way they would fit in a toolbox.

You get what you pay for!
You really do get what you pay for. These jack stands are expensive, but they are twice as big as the cheaper ones, twice as heavy, 10 times as sturdy, and assembled 100 times better. The welds are good. The legs sit flush. The only issue is that when you get them the paint will be chipped up a bit. The packaging is pretty terrible. The parts shift and clank around in the box and chip up. But they are jack stands. I don't care if they have a pretty paint job. As long as they do their job and are not damaged. Every other set of jack stands I've owned have been pretty rickety. In fact, I sent back two of the cheaper ones that were so poorly out of balance I felt unsafe using them. These I feel safe working underneath a 6000 pound low clearance van. A van that if it fell would crush me due to the lack of clearance underneath. And with jack stands you shouldn't skimp on something that could likely mean the difference between seeing tomorrow or being dropped six feet under. I should have paid the extra money and gotten these the first time. 5 stars.

Very beefy looking stands.
I, of course, have no way of testing whether these will hold 3 tons each (yup, not 6 tons each) but I can tell you that they look like they will when sitting next to my old chinese Kobalt 3 ton stands. I bought these because they are American made (owned by Shin Fu though), and because I didn't want to trust my old ones any more.As others have said, the packaging is terrible. The base of the stands were coming out of the box and are fairly scratched up. Not a big deal but just as another said, we gave 100+ bucks for these and should get a real box. The stands themselves seem okay. Welds are decent (not great though) and paint (aside from shipping scratches) is plenty adequate. The little welded pieces of metal under the 'feet' are all crooked and look pretty pointless. The metal wedge that engages the support teeth looks like it was rusted something aweful and then painted over. I don't think it was though. Just looks that way.Over all, I trust these because they are MASSIVE and American made. I've not seen any recalls or any negative info out there either. For 55+ bucks each though, I'd expect better workmanship with a couple of welding spots and better boxing.... I'll try to add a couple of pictures. Never done it before though.......Update 15 August 2013.....The price JUST jumped 20 more bucks. I guess they'll start packing these better and are sending the cost to us??? Also, I figured out the picture thing.

Top Quality BIG & BEEFY American Made Jack Stands
I purchased 4 of these 6-ton Jack Stands to install an AEV lift kit on my Jeep Rubicon. I didn't buy them for their 6-Ton load carrying capacity (although that's a huge benefit) I really bought them because they extend 25-3/4 inches in length which is further than any other Jack Stand I looked at.Before I purchased the Hein Werener Jack Stands I looked around to see what local stores carried and all I can say is that what they carry doesn't appear to be the same species. The metal is much thinner than the Hein Werner and the construction appears to be flimsy. Once you see your average 6-Ton Jack Stand next to a Hein Werner you just feel like your puting yourself at risk if you buy anything else. They worked perfectly for my project and as it turned out I needed every inch of lift for my 35" tires to clear the ground at full flex. I can't say enough about how secure I felt working under my Jeep every time I glanced over at these Jack Stands. I will no doubt have these for the rest of my life and then leave them to my son who will have them for the rest of his life and so on.
