It isn't, not messy, but it is magic!
I replaced the stock thermal pads on my ROG Strix 2080super GPU's memory and power delivery after a couple of years of use as my vram temps were ridiculously high, regularly exceeding 95C at stock frequency in games or crypto mining. As you can see from the temps in the picture that even with a substantial memory overclock and under full load mining temps are steady at 77C. The pc has been mining 24/7 for a few weeks now and this is the hottest the vram ever gets. I also replaced stock thermal paste with thermal grizzly Kryonaught incase you're wondering why the GPU is cruising along at 62C. Also, one of my 3 GPU fans died last week after being a little noisy for a few months so these temps are actually 5-10 degrees C higher than average with three functioning fans!I would 100% recommend this if you are happy dealing with the intrusive, messy application and are willing to check everything is functioning as it should before cooking your GPU through botched installation. I have read a few bad reviews of this stuff and can only guess that these people didn't install the stuff correctly and thus encountered issues. If you're confident in your abilities to install and have common sense (and a sense of humour as this stuff is laughably difficult to spread) then you won't go wrong with this.

Perfect
This thermal paste is the only thing that worked for me and my thermal issues. Forget measuring out each pad, guessing thicknesses, and praying that they make contact with the heatsink. Get a tub of this stuff and just smear it all over - no regrets.PC GPU VRAM temps went from 110° to <65° under loadLaptop temps went from thermal throttling at 100° to <75° under load.Couple this with Noctua's NT-H2 thermal paste and you're set.

Made my 3080 VRAM run hotter. Now it's worse and a mess three days of work later.
I wasted three days ruining my Nvidia 3080 with this stuff. Initially the VRAM was running at 86-88 degree's whilst mining so I decided I wanted to bring the temps down. I used some on the VRAM to the back-plate only and it brought it down to around 82-84 degrees. After the initial success I decided to order more and use it under the heatsink for the VRAM and the VRM's. I added copper shims corresponding to the instructions, sanded the copper shims down for a perfect fit and planed them to ensure flatness and after 11 dismantles and reconstructions I have poorer temps than ever! Now I have to run my all of my system fans and GPU fans at a much higher speed in order to get the temps to stabilize at 88 degrees!I'm at a crossroads as to what I should now do as the card is covered with this rubbish which is impossible to remove, my original heat pads are ruined and I am seeing higher temperatures than stock! I'm ÂŁ35 down so far and worse off..Stay away and just buy decent heat pads!

NOT good for the graphics cards, might be OK for laptop chipsets.
Really bad for GPU VRAM, overheats badly, even 1mm, can't imagine what would be with 3mm. Might be good for laptops, not sure, will keep testing.
