does this net have a fitted bottom to lay on or does it just tuck under bed please?

Hello, thanks for your question. We recommend tucking it under the mattress to ensure you are fully protected inside. It does have a protective skirting mainly to protect the base from scuffs and damage.

How big is it when packed? I want to put it in a suitcase so space is important!

Would you need to buy the hanging kit for this product? Or is the pre attached hook enough?

A hanging kit isn't necessary for this mosquito net. You'd only need that if you plan on going somewhere where there will be nothing at all to hang the net from (it has a hanging loop at the top of the net). If putting this up in a room, tent, or even under a tree, you only need a small length of cord at most. Will this stop midges?

I believe so. The mesh is very small. I've slept on a jungle beach in Madagascar with it. No midges there, but it kept all the bugs out. No ants even who had a big path in the palm covered poles.
