How can increase the resistance? The tank is full and the resistance is still very light.

Pull harder. I had a waterrower brand and the harder you pulled the higher the resistance. Try and keep stroke rate below 30. Extend your legs like you are jumping to increase power.

How loud is this machine? Would you be able to watch tv without headphones?

It's not loud at all. I watch TV without headphones maybe one or two clicks higher than I normally would.

Do I put all 3 water tablets in water

No that is too many -- Evidently that will build up gas and pop the plug. I can't remember how many you are supposed to use. But who wants to keep pills like that around the house. They would make you sick if you ate one. I put in all 3 pills and have to take out some water and add plain water to avoid gas build up. It is not an exact thing. But I am very fuzzy about sharing directions.
