Great little pocket radio
Great little radio for listening to either sport or music. Switched the included earbuds which unfortunately hurt my ears a little for a pair of decent Sony ones and found the sound to be brilliant. The screen is very clear and the radio is very easy to set up. It is just about the best pocket radio I have owned and I have had a few. There is no inbuilt rechargeable battery but just charging up your own rechargeable batteries and fitting them is no hardship and you don’t generally lose your preset stations when removing batteries and fitting new ones. At least I haven’t yet. It is a little chunky but appears well made and I am delighted with my purchase

Nice size, Good sound. What more do you want?
I bought this to replace a faulty Aves Air that I had to return. This was one of the few pocket DAB radios that had DAB+. Another plus point is that it doesn't take a silly battery pack that costs £10 and means waiting hours for it to recharge. First impressions.Nice and compact. I like the presets and on/off buttons on the top. Volume control on the left side and the 'jog' switch on the right. The jog control takes a little getting used to. To scroll through stations, either rotate up or down. To change screen options (like scrolling text) press inwards until the desired text is displayed. To access menus (including moving to/from FM to DAB), press and hold inwards.I'm not sure how long this control would last out, if you were too heavy handed with it. I had it out of the plastic blister (be careful opening it!) and working in 30 seconds, after inserting 2 AA's in the battery compartment and plugging in my usual earphones.Switch it on and it starts scanning DAB.I find the supplied earphones a bit uncomfortable. 5 presets on each on DAB and FM. Adequate for me, as I only listen to a few stations. To store presets, tune to the station you want, then press and hold down the appropriate preset. Sound is clear and crisp. No equaliser on it, but a DRC control is one of the menu options. It only has an effect on some stations. 2 things would make this perfect for me. 1) I find the display keeps defaulting to the rolling text, which I find annoying. If you change it to text that is 'still', it doesn't seem to 'remember' that choice. Doesn't matter whether this is from DAB to FM or vice-versa and also when you switch it on to start with, it's the same.According to Roberts, this cannot be changed.I did ask them to, pointing out that other radios (including their own), will 'remember' if you change it. 2) A socket for a mains adaptor (optional) to recharge batteries 'in-situ', rather than having to remove and replace them each time. All in all, a nice radio and worthy of consideration. As mentioned above (and by other reviewers), using rechargable batteries is highly recommended.

DAB portable radio
I bought this radio for my husband to listen to Radio 5 live. I had to return a previous model because it could not find a signal for Radio 5 live. But this one is sturdy, reliable, easy to use, easy to see, easily portable (fits in the pocket) It does draw much power from the batteries - I don't think he has changed the batteries since he started using it. Thr ear phones were disappointing and my husband found it hard to get used to them, they were of a poor quality. He has replaced these with another pair of earphones. Besides the earphones, the product is good and serves its purpose.

A tiny radio with a giant performance
This radio is much smaller than I expected. It easily fits into the top pocket of a shirt or jacket. Despite my bad eyesight I was able to set it up with all the presets within about twenty minutes. The controls and settings are fairly intuitive. I live near Worcester UK, and have good reception although I did have to try several times to get BBC4 and BBC4 Extra. All my others, Times radio, GB news, classic FM, were quick and easy to find. The earphones work okay and are good quality, but the bits which plug into your ears are hard and rigid and I prefer softer ones. I found that my own inexpensive set works fine and the lead seems to operate well as an aerial. The presets are good and positive and find their station quickly, although there is a slight delay. For its size this radio seems quite expensive but is worth every penny to me, because I listen to radio all through the night. If you want a compact little radio with accurate presets and good reception and with a good quality build, I recommend this this one strongly.

What a disappointment
Having had two previous versions of the Roberts DAB sports radio it's so disappointing that each new product is worse than the older versions. But this one is so much worse. I would have kept the DAB 3 except the built in battery no longer holds much charge. No speaker (well that was obvious from the description); light and flimsy construction. But the controls are so bad! Set the display to turn off - well it just goes dim. adjust the volume - so little granularity; provided earphones sound is poor - don't yet know if it would sound better with different ones. The battery level indicator looks full until about 5 minutes before it completely dies - useless! The most annoying feature is the settings menu which seems to have no consistent pattern - it just seems to cycle through options in a different order each time. So you can't learn to, for example, set the sleep timer by pushing up three times then down twice - you have to wake up, look at the bright display and check each time where the Sleep option has gone to and which order the time options happen to be displayed this time. Seems like very shoddy programming and makes this radio useless for anyone with vision impairment. I thought Roberts were better than this - I'll try someone else's product next time!

SIMPLY THE BEST
Probably the best little pocket radio ever sound quality alone 5 stars ⭐ well built sturdy fantastic radio this is my second one unfortunately last one I left on train but I quickly bout another around 90 stations 5 presets for favourite stations not rechargeable but don't let that put you off battery life on AA batts bout 1 week using like 3hrs daily I use rechargeable batteries so no issue shop around Amazon like 45 good offer honestly buy it radio 5live radio5xx talk radio talksport 1 and 2 all stored your headphones are your antenna extend your headphones when scanning go near a window or high point in your house or outside now dab works of a bit rate you my have to move around a little to find best signal but I can’t fault this unit I’ve since scanned again 102 stations long press the jog wheel option to change to fm we’re recieve can be slightly better I’m now reckoning on 30 hrs runtime on good rechargeables option to buy case

Good Radio, Headphones not fit for purpose
This radio is a good purchase for those who want a neat dab handheld radio. The set up was easy, I like the presets feature and the quality of the sound is clear when in a loud environment such as sports stadia. However, the headphones provided are simply not fit for purpose. The attached photo was I was presented with when I got them out my bag to use them for the first time. You can see the flimsy knot holding it in and frankly, it shouldn't detach like that after just one use. So my tip is buy the radio, use your own headphones, as you'll most likely have to anyway!
