Neither the top lid, nor the side lid seal well. Oil leaks out of both. So make sure you empty the used oil straight away into another container. I would return it if it weren't full of used oil residue. It will go to the dump next time I go out there.

Junk. Oil pan leaks all over everything and filter tool is useless.

I didn't buy this kit but I did buy this oil pan separately at an auto parts store. First time I used it I drained the oil from my tractor and then poured the oil into a five gallon can. I set the pan right side up on the concrete floor of the pole building that I store the tractor in and a few weeks later I see the pan sitting in a puddle of oil. I cleaned up the mess and set the pan back on the floor. The next day there was a small amount of oil under one of the four pads that are molded into the bottom. Upon close inspection I saw there was a pin hole in the curved part of the pad where the oil was leaking out. It had to be a manufacturing defect. I turned the pan over on my work bench so I could clean and scuff the spot to patch the hole with JB Weld. Even though there was just a film of oil left in the pan, oil leaked out of the closed top lid.If my JB patch doesn't fix the leak this piece of crap is going in the garbage and I'll buy one made in China instead of one marked made in USA, probably by illegals, definitely by incompetents.

It leaks oil on both holes

I've owned this style before and it doesn't work well... it leaks. If it's laying down, the small plug leaks, and if you stand it up, the larger cap leaks. So once you put oil in it, it's gonna leak.
