I am able to field dress an animal with a knife and a sharpener, but experience has shown me that it takes forever. This kit allows me to have all the tools to make breaking down an animal much easier by having the right tools for the situation. As a trapper as well, it also helps to have different blades to skin and flesh the hides. The kit came in a plain tan case, which is fine, but the steel on the knives and tools was not the cleanest. There are scuffs and debris coating metal, which may lead to a potential quality issue. You can wash the grime off, but the scuffs seem permanent.
