Found I had the dreaded blue light on my dock station for a missing loop signal. After an hour of searching for a broken wire ( wire was laid on top of grass over 2 years ago) came to the conclusion I was wasting my time. After a bit of research I found this and others, but this one had more consistent reviews I took the plunge and ordered it. Decided to try it out quickly one evening and after a bit of fine tuning it was easy to follow the boundary wire, probably took 30 mins or so and had the broken wire located.Once the wire was found the break was within 4 inches from where the signal was weak. Huge time save and worth every penny.All will say,if you’re dubious about spending £40 on finding a broken wire, don’t be! Well worth it.

Does give some false positives but on the whole is a good product. Helped me find where the wire was broken on a number of occasions, so can't ask for more!

Total rubbish.1. It doesn't work down to 2ft !! More like half an inch, even with the sensitivity turned right up.2. The lithium battery is just rattling around inside the body. No attempt to fix it inside. Only a matter of time before the wire(s) break3. It's very cheap and nasty.4. Just boxed it back up, and sending it back for a refund.

Break in dog fence after storm but could not find it as rout overgrown got this and found the break in minute great gadget.

One needs a bit of help when there is a break in continuity of wires buried underground - this unit helps. It's not brilliant and takes a bit of getting used to - but will eventually identify the spot. The trick is with interpretating the strength of the signal given off - trial and error.

Using this to locate buried cable for robotic lawnmower. Very happy with it.

The media could not be loaded. It works but i need to try a few times, get used to the sound difference, switched it on and off a few times as well before I found the broken wires at the end

Needed to find a break in my lawn mower boundary wire. Had tried the AM radio method but that didn't work.I connected the red connector to the boundary wire and the black to a screwdriver in the ground but I think you can connect both red/black to the same wire and/or just the red connector - it's not entirely clear...Anyhow using this unit I traced from the mower dock and found the issue within minutes. There was a wire joining connector only 2m from the dock which was the problem.
