Worth buying
I'm someone who doesn't like mobile phones, but this one is quite easy to use.

First smartphone for elderly parent.
Purchased for elderly parent, who’d been using a very basic Nokia for years, but the 3G signal is soon to be cut off.Quite a palaver to set up, he definitely would not have managed it himself! It seems disappointingly slow, even when connected to WiFi.I think he will take to it easily, now that it’s ready to use. He will enjoy the ease of checking his emails without firing up the PC, and it will give us some peace of mind to know that he has the emergency button and GPS.

Mobile phone in old age!!!!
I am 79 years old and have limited sight and hearing. Due to my husbands illness I am now on my own and felt I should TRY to use a mobile phone! I have tried before without success! This Doro phone is great! I am still learning but I am getting there. Thank you so much! It helps a lot!!!!

A great basic android phone for my great aunt!
I have just finished setting this phone up for a close family member over 90! I'v been very impressed with the additional software and features Doro have added to this basic Android phone. While i don't think she could have set it up herself, for the scenario where a somewhat tech savy person is going to do the initial setup, I would highlight recommend.Doro have added a customised home screen, widgets and apps which making using the phone very easy and straight forward, as well as improving the menus and setup for increasing the size of fonts or icons. The plus pack comes with everything you will need, a case, screen protector and charging stand which can hold the phone without removing the case. The phone itself is a low end spec, and can be a little slow if your used to iPhone's ect, however, for this use case its perfectly fine.

I can't see why this phone is recommended for elderly that other cheaper phones dont do better
Bought this for my 86yo Mum, who due to a stroke has limited use of her left hand and she was regularly putting her other phones into flight mode(which makes it as useful as a brick) or turning the volume down when she grips them.. this is even worse because the volume buttons and power button, which when all 3 pressed put it into silent mode. Even with the volume buttons disabled, every time she picks it up it is put into silent mode. The volume of the ringer is absolutely no different from a normal phone and way quieter than my google pixel. The app which allows you to get help remotely , is more complicated to access than what it actually allows you to do. So if she turns the volume down, instead of one button to turn it back up, she has to remember which app to press, wait for it to give a number and then navigate through menus to find who to send the request to which then is then sent as a text 🤷. Also it needs wifi so if its in flight mode then it will not work. The sos button on the back is good, but again needs to have a connection. If you want to truly advertise a phone as being easy to use for elderly people then you should consider that most people have mobility issues not just hearing or sight. Remove the volume buttons, allow flight mode to be completely disabled because come on , it is the most crippling of apps and most people will never need to use it.I have ordered the cradle & case seperately so maybe with rhe case on it might be better for her to grip, but if not it'll be returned as not fit for purpose advertised.

Terrible. Avoid!
I thought the usability problems my Dad had with this were down to him initially but no! The phone is very flawed sadly. For example, sometimes when someone is ringing, there’s no way to see who it is or control the call at all. It’s utterly bizarre. FYI I’m pretty tech savvy and am on computers and mobiles all day, it’s not a user problem. I loved the idea of an entry level smart phone for my Dad but we’re giving up on it and going for a refurbished iPhone instead. I really hope the manufacturer reads this, please de-bug this phone for the sake of your users! You’re making it difficult for the people that are possibly less used to smart phones, it’s the worst you can do for them! Oh and the volume is terrible! The maximum is not nearly loud enough. Avoid!
