Color by Numbers: Birds and Butterflies

This book contains some really pretty bird and butterfly images. The color choices are pretty good as well, but seem a little different from the "Nature" book. The images are printed on only one side of decent paper. I use Crayola water based markers and there isn't much bleed through, although I still put a piece of paper behind the page I am coloring to be on the safe side. The paper however does crinkle a little from the markers. There are 61 full sized images to color, plus a few practice pieces in the front introduction. I like all but a few of the images in this book. The colored images in the book flaps is also a plus although I don't try to match exactly, but it helps to see the finished piece with the color choices the authors suggest.

I got this book for my Aunt who loves to color. It is a really nice book and I'm sure she will enjoy. Hopefully will find more books like this from same author

This is similar to the other books in the Chartwell Books Series of color by number books, lots of variety. There are 28 colors in the key and they are named. It is the same exact key as in the Enchanted World & Animal Kingdom books. There are no perforations but the pages come out easily with a cutting tool of any kind. I like this series because of the variety and the pictures always look nice when completed. Also a great value, you get 60 plus pages to do.

Numbers were vivid; colors were marvelous; it was "simply" a lot of fun coloring the pictures!! I have had other coloring books where the numbers were difficult to read or the print was skewed. The completed pictures of birds and butterflies were quite pleasant to the eye. I highly recommend this book to others as I am certain that you will not regret doing so!

Parfois, je n'ai pas envie de choisir moi-même les teintes des coloriages ..... Petit coup de paresse.....Ou manque d'inspiration.J'ai donc acheté ce livre : formidable !* Il y a un nuancier qui permet de préparer ses crayons en fonction de la teinte proposée (mais pas imposée !!...... il y a d'ailleurs certaines teintes que j'ai modifiées pour obtenir un effet plus "pastel" )* Le graphisme des dessins est très beau.* Les numéros sont discrets (peut-être trop pour quelqu'un qui aurait des problèmes de vue ?), mais au moins, on ne les voit pas une fois la couleur mise.*Un seul dessin par page ; très pratique pour celles et ceux qui préfèrent les feutres (ce n'est pas mon cas). Et le papier est de bonne qualité.Je ne propose pas de photos : en regardant les autres commentaires, vous pourrez en voir beaucoup......Je pense acheter "les paysages" dans la même collection.

The pictures are very clear and a very good selection of images. However, the paper is polished and this prevents a good contact for the coloured pencils. There is not enough tooth on the paper. The numbers are a little small too, even with glasses

I received my colour by number book this afternoon and I have already done 3 pages. The numbers are easy to see and the images are nice. The paper is thick and the images are one only one side of the pages, making colour transfer non-existent. I will buy more of these books once I finish this one. I'm having so much fun!
