We purchased this to go on top of a fire pit/grill we're building in the back yard rather than as a replacement for the original product for which it was designed. The measurements will be perfect for a nice grilling/cooking surface over the fire, and these are indeed very heavy with what appears to be a solid ceramic coating. Only time will tell just how well these will hold up, though we intend to remove them and keep them out of the weather when not in use, so presumably they'll last quite a long time. Though designed as a replacement for a specific product, these certainly can be utilized in a variety of "DIY" home projects as well. We are well pleased.
