very good for quick reference, not too detailed...seems to focus on business applications. As the title sez, it's visual; if you want more explaination get the David Pogue "Missing Manual" for Windows 8.

This author writes his books in an easy to understand way and the visuals are easy to understand. I have purchased many of McFedries publications and found them to all be worthwhile and very informative. I find myself going back to review articles in the book often.
