Typical SA fly line
Lin seems nice and supple haven’t used it yet but I have about 6 different SA lines it only has a welded loop at one end so I had to remeber how to tie a nail knot to the backing no biggie. double welded ends just make loop to loop connections a lot easier without having to cut anything to change lines. Loops go through guides easier as well but worth the money

It's a classic for a reason
If you don't have $100 to spend on a fancy line or you are just looking for a good budget line this is it. I think these lines have stayed the same price for like 30 years. Most companies would have discontinued this line, but SA knows there is still a place for this line in the market. It certainly beats the hell out of other lines at this price point. You may need to grease your tip if you're fishing a dry fly or strike indicator (bobber) a little sooner than with SA's more current technologies, but big whoops - it's a bargain line!

Easy to purchase
It’s a known product.

Don’t be cheap!
No spool. It comes wound up and zip tied together. No spool = 20 minutes of extra work undoing the rat’s nest that inevitably ensues. Don’t be cheap Scientific Anglers, put it back on a spool.

Great float line
I bought this line for my trip out to Colorado. It worked perfectly. I like the yellow color better than my old orange line. Hopefully as time goes on it will continue to impress me.

Excellent line for the value
I've seen this line recommended online for beginners & that it's a great value. I've started using this line and does work better than the inexpensive lines I've seen on other websites. It casts better than my cheap line I replaced. So far I like it better than my old line &would recommended- especially if you're just starting out.

Best under $50 fly line
Noticeably better than some of the big box generic store lines, even though some of them are ironically made by SA. It seems lighter and not truly “true weight”. I’ve been using the 4wt on my 3wt glass rod and it feels like 3wt line. I cut off about 15 feet of the WF section and it shoots much better. It’s slick, moderately supple and doesn’t have memory issues. I only wish it came in double taper.

Happy with this fly line
Although I’ve only used it once it cast well and lies well on the water. My only issue was with the packaging. The inner package was for a different type of line. Confusing!

Beautiful flyline
I come from the era of soaking and greasing fly lines and they used to stop floating after 20 minutes use. These modern Scientific Anglers floating fly lines are superb and they just keep on working, hour after hour.I loved the 'good old days' but these fly lines leave the old ones for - just sinking!

Floating line that does not float - or lay flat
Having used SA lines in the past and been pleased with them, I decided to give them another go.The line I paid for (and according to the box was) a WF6F.The box was unopened and the line still looked wrapped as it would from the factory. However, once put onto my large arbor reel and tested, this line will not float or lay flat.Without a leader, and just tested on my local Stillwater on a reasonably warm, wind free day, the results were extremely disappointing and frustrating.Floating: The body of the line floated at first, briefly, but the loop end quickly sank to the bottom, and after 1-2 minutes the line was too deep to be able to see it and despite several false casts to dry it, it would sink again a few seconds after settling on the water.Curling up: This line will not sit flat. It just keeps curling back on itself. All twists have been removed from the line and it has been gently stretched. It will go flat on landing from the cast, but immediately starts to draw backwards in curls (and starts sinking).I have been fly fishing for over 30 years and this is the first line that I have had this many issues with. From the SA, Rio, and budget no name brands I have used (amongst others I have forgotten the names of), this is by far the worst.I would return it but as it has been used I can’t (which is stupid as how else do you known if it works without using it?).Anyway, despite conditioning the line and trying every trick in the book to get it straight and buoyant, this line is a total waste of time and money and will have to be consigned to the bin.Don’t waste your time, but anything else.

Great product does the job
Perfect for the type of fishing I do, it is nothing fancy but in my opinion it represents good value for money
