Salomon Men's XT Hornet Trail Running Shoe

Just got them and am still breaking them in. Ran them out of the box on a 4 mile trail run and no blisters/problems of any kind. Have run them a few other times as well and these shoes feel very stable and sturdy. They have great traction on the limestone hillsides in Texas. We actually had rain just after I got them and they handled the little bit of mud nicely.These are neutral shoes. The materials seem to be well-made and engineered to provide comfort and support while being very stable, even for a 200+lb runner. Definitely some of the best shoes I've ever had and for the Prime price are now top of the list. My size 12D is a little small lengthwise but a 12.5D might be too long for my preference. Width seems perfect and my foot does not shift side-to-side in the heel, arch, or toe areas.

I bought these before a Gagnar Trail race, jogged in them twice before the race and they worked great. I was expecting some blisters since they were not properly broken in, but none at all. We got a flash flood in middle of the race and these shoes fit so snug they did not slip off even in deep mud. I would recommend these to any trail runner. The shoe size was accurate.

I really liked the comfort that I obtained from the shoes especially after they became broken in, but the reason for the return was that when I was running downhill from a hike. I turned my ankle 2 times, that is much more than my old la sportiva pair. I will try the dynafit feline ghost. If it doesn't work then I'll buy locally.

Overall this is a great trail running shoe. I run on hard dirt trails with rocks and loose gravel and these shoes give me the confidence I need to keep my speed up. They offer tons of grip on the steep, loose gravel downhills and the stability needed to run over very rocky trails.The only gripe I have is the toe box is a little stiff and caused a slight rubbing on my little toe during the first few runs. But after putting approximately 15 miles on the shoes the rubbing went away.I ordered one size larger than I normally wear.

My favorite shoe of all time! No joke. I have higher arches and need the wide ones, but they had those in stock and they are perfect!

Seems to run small in size. I have other similar shoes in the same size that aren't tight.

Fit too small I even bought half size larger than I normally wear. Toe box hard and too narrow, Insole has ridges and not smooth so causes blisters. Unfortunate that I have worn them, as you need to do with shoes to see if they are ok, and the returns policy doesn't cover sending shoes back if you have worn them for some reason (like trail running!) Poor shoes, poor returns policy.

Lightweight yet stable shoe for walking my dog. Good grip levels and very comfortable. Was initially uncertain about the lacing system as I have never used the pull-cord thing before, but found it very good and has not come loose during wear. The tongue has a hidden pouch/pocket where you hide the strap and fastener. Great stuff

Having owned several Salomon shoes over the years I was a little disappointed at how quickly they absorbed water. They are also on the small size; I have always bought Salomon in size 10 but have found these in size 10 a bit too tight. Otherwise a great trail shoe!
