The A to Z of Glock & Xylophone: The Right Route For You

This book assumes you know nothing about music, concentrating on how to read notes, rhythms, etc. Meanwhile, the little written about the glockenspiel are poorly done. For instance, the part on how to hold the mallets has only a very small black and white photo that doesn't even show thumb and finger positioning. There's only a few learning tunes toward the back that might be worthwhile. A waste of money for the new glock player that knows anything about music at all.

Can't figure out the scales. Are some keys missing from my xylophone? Mine starts with a G. Some other reviewer recommended this to go along with my purchase.Now the book sits there. Ditto xylophone. You tube was no help.The xylophone is nice. The sounds are crisp. We even bought extra sticks.

Appears suitable for beginner. Long distance gift for a child. I can’t comment further until I see what kid can do with it over time.

Great book for the beginning musician. Some theory and lots of practical advice.

This book is excellent for those who cannot or don't read music notation well. Each excercize is clearly explained and rhythms are written out in large, easy to read print. This book takes you from being a rank beginner through the basic steps of playing mallet instruments in order to develop a good playing technique. Recommended .

A very informative book for beginners.

I found this book very informative. It certainly leaves you with a more understanding of the glockenspiel and the music you can make from it. It tells you all you need to know about learning to play the glockenspiel correctly. It’s not just about hitting the bars with a beater it goes in depth about how to hit the bars all about delay and the different types of beaters for different sounds. Everything you need in one book

The content of this tutor is excellent in the way it is laid out.It is basic & just what anyone learning to play the instrument requires to know.I can say it is an excellent buy.However, the book is in the perfect binding format & is therefore very difficult to open out on a music stand. To get round this I took the book to pieces & bound it with binding rings so that it opened outflat on the stand.

Got this for my 10 year old. Looks like a good book, but bought it months ago and my son hasn't even used it.
