Waste of money/ terrible product
Save your money. This product is terrible. The IR is weak, the product feels cheaply made, the night vision is sub-par, the the battery compartment lid pops off randomly, the viewing screen is too bright and very tiny, the eye piece is uncomfortable, and there are no adjustable settings (on/off/adjust ir brightness). There are several products at half the price that work twice as good (BNISE night vision binoculars are a great choice).

Not worth it even for children play
This digital NVG device is flawed in many ways. It is fixed at 5x magnification but the IR light isn't capable of reaching distances at which the camera is fixed at. The screen at which you look at through the tube resembles watching a movie in a theater, only you're seated 2 football fields away from the movie screen.... and the movie is 5x zoomed in that you can't tell what you're looking at.I wouldn't reccomend this product for any use other than for looks.

Best beginner pvs14, but get an external IR light.
I did not like the integrated it light, it’s just not powerful enough to use for varmint hunting at night. I purchased an it light and this thing works fantastic. I would like a 1times lense to aid in the walking around at night, the 2x takes some getting used too. But again, this is not a 2500 dollar unit. For the price it is definitely worth it. In the day time the color is good.

Very Nice NVD
I used night vision in the military. Those units are heavily built, and are very expensive. This unit, while probably not as durable, is better in many ways. It can be used in the daylight, and the screen resolution is excellent, with natural looking colors. At night, according to the instructions the image is supposed to be black and white, but its in color-albeit a little washed out. Have not tried it out in the woods or total darkness yet. The only drawback is the minimum zoom level is 2X. I would have preferred 1X because that makes movement in the dark easier, but I have adapted to the 2X zoom and cam move comfortably.
