It's a simple 1/2" thick bamboo cutting board. I like it for 3 reasons:it's thick enough to chop vegetables.It can be thoroughly cleaned with mild dish soap and water.The price point is reasonable.The juice well is small and inadequate for slicing roasted meat, but that requires a larger cutting board, bamboo if I can find one, with a bigger juice well, and a run off to capture or drain meat juiced into a container or the sink.All in all, it does exactly what I bought it for.

I have always wanted a larger kitchen cutting board because the ones I had previously gotten were flimsy and too small. When I saw this Bamboo Wood Cutting Board for Kitchen, 1" Thick Butcher Block, I immediately ordered it. The thickness is great and the 16x11" size can handle whole chickens and you can easily cut a medium sized turkey with plenty of room. I have also found that I like the recessed handles better than handles that protrude and the juice grooves alleviate the mess from juicy fruits and veggies. The fact that this board is an inch thick will prevent warping and this board is durable and will last for years. Cleanup is a breeze and it serves my needs well. I am VERY pleased with this purchase!

Perfectly nice for a while but then begins to split apart, likely from moisture.I never machine wash or leave soaking. Cleaned by hand then dried right away. It still starts splitting apart after a few years.3 stars because it did last a few years.
