Depends on what you use it for. As a pillow it’s very safe.

I wake up with very shore neck and upper shoulders, does this pillow helps me with my issue. I have tried mypillow but didn't get any good result.

We have great results. The secret to the Waterbase Pillow is that it allows for customizable support due to our Waterbase Technology. The right amount of water can take a few sleeps to find with some trial and error for your perfect comfort and support. The Water Pillow by Mediflow is clinically proven in a Johns Hopkins study to reduce neck pain and improve your quality of sleep.

How to these hold up if you have cats that lay on them? I'm afraid of their nails...

They should be fine. There is a thick plastic bag (which holds the water) on the inside of the pillow and then "pillow " surrounds the bag. So they would have to have very long nails to get through...I would think. Its very sturdy to keep from leaking everywhere so I really cant see a cat's nails puncturing it.

Does the pillow or pillow case contain any type of latex?

No this does not contain any type of Latex.

I can not say enough about these pillows

I am a violent sleeper with neck, back, and knee issues. These pillows are, in my opinion, the absolute best on the market! I have NEVER had as good of sleep as I do using these. The water bladder allows for you to adjust the water level to fit your body. The pillow topping is incredibly comfortable. I fall asleep within 5 to 10 minutes and get good quality sleep all night. I wake feeling refreshed. YES; definitely get this if you are a troubled sleeper. Got the wife her own so she stops taking mine, and bought 2 extra just in case. Last me about 3 years. I highly recommend
