These E27 sockets are for making your own pendant lights. They are a dark brass/copper finish and look very good. They should be used with round cable for the best result. There is a set screw in the neck to screw into the round cable and keep tension off of the wire connection screws. It's simple to use these. Slip the upper collar onto the wire and then strip off enough wire to connect to the screw posts. The screws are combination standard flat head and Phillips head. Any screwdriver will do. Once you snap the top and bottom halves together, with some force, the pendant is ready to wire into a power source. These are among the better of this type of product. They use good looking metal and everything is as it should be inside. They are easy to use. You'll need to use a switched recepticle as these do not have switches on them. This are TOP NOTCH light sockets. ~ Superior construction. SOLID metal components makes for a sturdy feeling socket with some serious weight behind it. This is just what you want for that perfect retro look. ~ Nice knurling in both the upper and lower rings...again super nice construction. ~ Excellent consistency in the finish. With this lamp socket you can turn a cheap lamp into a high- quality piece of furniture assuming ywou have good taste for a shade and the lamp itself . Machined brass. It's hard to imagine you can buy this quality piece for this price . In the days of mass produced crap.........this lamp socket can turn your lamp into a truly quality piece . You will benifit from the purchase of cloth covered (old- fashioned) lamp cord. Installation note: These sockets, like most self wire-able metal sockets, come with a cardboard lining inside.This should be left in as it acts as an insulator. Do not remove it.
