You can put it on top of various hides, bridges, and bedding for a different texture in your ham’s enclosure. Adds some nice color and smells really good!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: do i need to do anything to it before using it?**
A: You don’t have to do anything before using it in the enclosure, but I would suggest putting in the freezer for 24-48 hours, letting it thaw and dry out again to get rid of any organisms such as a little critters (bugs)/parasites before placing in the enclosure. Just in case. I go by the mantra, “better safe than sorry”. You wouldn’t want your little friend to get sick.

**Q: Is it reusable?**
A: For decoration, yes. 
If used for an animal, I would not recommend re-using as it can be soiled without noticeable smell. 

With that said, you get a very large portion for the price so even if you do have to throw it out, it’s still a great price for the amount you get.

**Q: My bag was slightly open, is it still safe/fresh?**
A: You would have to contact the manufacturer On this topic. I don’t have enough information to give, as mine was closed.

**Q: Do I need to sterilize it?**
A: I don’t think so, I’ve been using this for my hammos for months. More decorative, but from time to time I see them nibble on it or use it for bedding :)

My hamster likes this forest moss a lot. He already is using it for nesting! Obviously not suitable for main bedding, but a great addition to put around their enclosure. My hamster did end up being allergic, but that isn't the products fault. Make sure to watch you hamster when adding new substrates! It's a pretty big bag, full all the way! It will add a nice pop of color to your cage if your hamster isn't allergic to it! Gandalf loved crawling on it, it is pretty soft!
